I'm seeing reports that the Bears could be playing in an empty stadium.
Again, I still stand my prediction that a lot of coaches and GM's will get a mulligan after the upcoming season.
Yup, but I wonder if players would be asked to take paycuts? That would be a difficult situation to say the least.
Yeah, I have no clue but we will see some mighty big businesses fold as a direct result of this world pandemic. I mean businesses that just a few months ago were thought to be unshakable strong and the idea that they would ever fold was unthinkable. Unemployment is already at near 100 year high... going back to "The Great Depression" days.
Think about that. Let that soak in.
Businesses will find it tough to pay employees when the revenue simply is not there to pay them. I think many of us are in total denial as to how bad the next few years are going to be. I thought the great recession of 2008 was bad (my place of work never fully recovered from that... and it's been in business for over 150 years). But this present world economic tsunami is going to dwarf that recession of 2008. It's coming.
So, players may not skate through this financial time without (at least) pay cuts. Of course we don't know how this all will play out. But only a fool would believe it's all going to be "business as usual" for awhile.

But, if that happens, contracts like Macks, Quinns and even Foles (I think he can opt in) would really bite us in the ass. Also, there would be no money for ARob extension

A lot of players better save up. Cause I have a feeling that if the players say no to pay cuts, they are not going to be able to keep up their lifestyle.

It's going to impact every team, not just us. What I will say is TV deals make up over half of the leagues revenue. In 2018 each team received $255 mill from the NFL in revenue sharing. The Cowboys made $865 mill. Now not every team makes that much, but if they are playing games without fans, then that takes away a big cost in employees to work the stadium on game days. Owners might want to reduce the cap by that much...but I can't see it happening.
