Here's why I don't want this place. Has NOTHING to do with members here. I still stand by my decision to have it more open (less rules). I have no ties to Chicago. I can't imagine wanting to go there given the shit hole that place has become. The violence, the political agenda etc. So I have decided to change my loyalty to the closest team near me. That is Jacksonville. So there isn't some band wagon thing going on. I built my retirement house last year. I plan on living here until I die. So I'm not leaving.
I deleted justanotherbearsfan99's account. He frankly pissed me off. He was one person I offered the site to, or the other group that left. A member recently posted the exact private message I sent him (and only him). The person he sent it to, was from yet a different site (owner).
There have been members poaching here and I guess people think I'm an idiot. I have removed their ability to private message others.
So there it's out. I will not fund this place using my own money any longer. I tried to keep this place alive by handing it to others.
Maybe I'll start up a Jaguars message board. Who knows. I will say this, if I see any mass poaching of members, I will start deleting accounts.
Shit I may just nuke the site at that point. Good luck. Illinois is a democratic nightmare. Keep voting democratic (and blame the failures on the republicans).
I feel bad for him. I never knew him on a personal basis, but some of the stuff he is saying just makes no sense and I'm wondering what state of mind he is in. He is closing the site but will delete all posters that are poaching members. If you are nuking the site, wouldn't you want people to be able to find another CHicago Bears site? I am not really understanding what is happening. If he were going to sell the site, he would want to continue to keep members, but he makes it sound like he has no takers. No time frame either. I wish him well. He does not regret his decisions, but I bet many people still on that site do regret them. Sounds like he might start another board. Not sure why he just does not add a separate group to the site for the Jags. He already has the infrastructure. I'm not sure I would tear this one down and start over (well, I would because there are too many floating turds - but that is not an issue for him). I'd love to give him some business advice, but honestly, Soul tried to help him with the old board and I just get the impression that he does not take input well. Wish him the best, but looks like some board turds will be looking for their third board to take down very soon.
Don't know why he had to bring his political delusions into it. Don't know why he got P'd off at JABF, that part made no sense, neither does the part about the city. I dislike the city, but it does have a lot going for it. I'm just a rural kind of guy. Yes, there is violence, but the media blows it out of proportion, like everything else. If he starts another board, doesn't that contradict what he said about not having time with family duties and stuff? Or is he just MSU?
I thought he was a decent guy based on the history of that site, but his changed attitude toward the long-time members relative to the newcomers P'd me off. If that's the kind of board he likes, he can have it. He did, and see what happened? But he's in denial about it, blaming others, and MSU. Hey ski, don't like the violence and political agenda? Well, good luck with that in Florida, oh, and stay away from hurricanes. They're a bit violent, you know.
