I wish Rick went out with more style. When you're last message is "Its been fun" and the "It's" is misspelled and the misspelled "it's" is the only things you can see on the page until the board disappears, that's pretty sad. Fitting though. It's clear how much of a shit he gives about the board - not enough to even spell "it's" correctly or go back and edit it when he realized (if he realized) it was spelled incorrectly.

Agree.
If he didn't want to run the board anymore, then he should have found someone who did before checking out. Instead he let it degenerate into an online cesspool. And I'm not talking about just recently--I'm referring to a year and half ago when the barbarians starting crashing the gates and no one was minding the store.

Well, he just let it go. That was visible even then. Thats why I made this board in a hurry, so we dont lose touch.

While that was never offered last fall when I first began to bring moderation issues up with Ski if it would have been under the same terms that were eventually offered I would have been interested in taking over and restoring the peace.
Some of us did discuss the possibility of buying DBS this past spring but by then it was too far gone and Alex's plan had a much better chance of success so that's the direction we went in. I think it was the right move.
