I'm not saying they need to keep Cutler but they do need to keep some of the guys. Getting rid of Cutler and Jeffery is a big mistake. If they can only keep one then it should be Jeffery since he can help the team more long term.
As I said I'm fine with paying him but we need to make a few moves to clear up the cap space to allow us to also sign big name FAs. Getting rid of Cutler, Houston, Mcphee, and Massie gives us an extra 34+ million in cap space to spend around in FA.
The only way this team will get out of this is with talent.
Jeffery has top 10 talent. He can't help it if he has a shitty QB or stupid coach calling plays. When they use him he puts up great numbers. His averages are great and has only had one bad game which was last night. Jordy Nelson had an even worse game and isn't having a great season, should they move on from him? Dez Bryant is a top paid WR and what has he done? How about Demaryius Thomas? Most would agree that Thomas' lack of numbers has to do with the QB but know he's a top 5 WR. TY Hilton has had two great games and the rest suck so they shouldn't pay him either.
The point I'm trying to make is these are all the top paid WRs in the NFL and get paid because they are very good and their teams need them. Sometimes the has bad seasons, or they get hurt, or they don't have a good QB or they have a new OC that doesn't use them the same but that doesn't change how good they are.
Even Julio Jones has had some crappy games but they have been overlooked because of his 300 yard game. As you can see it all depends on how your team uses you and how defense cover you.
