I really don't think it possible to resurrect anything from this mess. Fox should step down at the bye but won't. Pace should then relieve him his job but he won't either.
IMHO there is zero sense rebuilding this team with Fox as it's HC any longer. Injuries only go so far in the way of providing an excuse. This whole deal is going nowhere fast and yet I'll buy around for the site if the McCaskey's step in and give Pace the go ahead to make the needed changes during bye week.
This week he'll be busy trying to find another QB.
Look at our cap space. With how bad this team is playing Jags and the Browns have the right idea. They have tons of cap space. Heck 3 of our biggest cap space eaters are out with injury.
Jay Cutler and Mcphee need to go. Both have done nothing for us and ain't the future of this team. Houston will also need to go seeing that he takes up a pretty big chunk of our cap space and is coming back yet from another ACL injury.
We draft Garrett to replace their productivity and go after a QB either in the late first or early 2nd.
Try to resign Jeffery under top 5 money seeing that his productivity has been very lack luster this year. Then attempt to sign Eric Berry and some tackles...
Sure let's trade or release even more of our most productive players before we have their replacements. I mean what the hell it's worked so far right?
Next................
Who did I name that was productive?
You could argue Cutler I get that.
Houston and Mcphee? Both coming off of BAD injury? Is it worth keeping one that has yet another ACL injury in the same leg and another one who has a bad knee?
Jeffery we can get back but I don't want to overpay for someone who has been very lack luster this season and also has injury concerns...
Time to play every young guy as much as possible to help them improve , cuz an improved player = a depth player at the very least ( and they might actually unearth some projected starters )while also weeding out all non-hackers .

Would you stop making crap up about Jeffery. He has been playing great when he is used in the game. That hasn't been his fault. I admit that last night was his worst game but I'm not sure if that was his fault or just part of the complete crap fest the whole offense was. Jeffery is about the only play maker on the offense and he needs to be paid if you want to keep him. If you let him go along with Cutler and other big names then this team will easily be the least talented team in the league next year.
I'm not saying they need to keep Cutler but they do need to keep some of the guys. Getting rid of Cutler and Jeffery is a big mistake. If they can only keep one then it should be Jeffery since he can help the team more long term.

If there is one good thing coming out of this season, it's that with our starters injured, a ton of bench players are getting playing time. It sucks that the team's starters are out, but a tiny (real tiny) blessing is that the Bears are getting a ton of playing time for the youngsters coming off the bench to be starters this year.
Whitehair getting moved to center due to injuries was a blessing in disguise. That guy is having a tremendous season. I think we've found our center for the next 8 or 10 years. Gonna be a good one too... reminds me of a young Jay Hilgenberg.

Before Hoyers injury last night it almost looked like Hoyer was trying to force the ball into Jeffery's hands. Reminded me of Cutty and his laser beam eyes at B.M

Oh for sure, and that Jax game too, from the very start. I think AJ was pissed as hell because of that last throw vs Colts, so Hoyer better throw it to him

I'm not making crap up. I'm using his stats. This is a dude who wants top 5 WR money. He has only had 1 100+ yard game. He was shut down against a depleted Packers DB. If you truly are a #1 WR you need to get open. No excuses..
As I said I'm fine with paying him but we need to make a few moves to clear up the cap space to allow us to also sign big name FAs. Getting rid of Cutler, Houston, Mcphee, and Massie gives us an extra 34+ million in cap space to spend around in FA.
The only way this team will get out of this is with talent.
