For the second week in a row the game was literally in Hoyers' hands and it went south on the team. Deflected passes on fourth down to end game(both games), two goal to go opportunities settled for field goals this week. This isn't because I dislike Hoyer, he does a lot of good things. I'm simply being equally critical of Hoyer as I am of Cutler.
There should be a box for that cow pasture they're playing on . Maybe they win if Porter doesn't slip on the TD , cuz it ain't like the Jags were having their way with us .
So we didn't get a meaningless win ... who cares . I'm more interested in a better draft slot at this point .
Eventhough they have had 2 winnalbe games the opponents have really been bottom feeders. I don't expect wins against GB and Minnesota. But I will be interested to see for how long and if we can at least give a fight. Especially on D. I expect us to be 1-7 going into the bye week, with luck 2-6. Maybe it is time to resurrect the old ball FA and draft thread from weeks ago.
I guess I was too quick to jump on the Hoyer bandwagon and there is a reason why he goes from team to team.
Ya' think?
What part of the guy scores less points off more offensive yardage than any other Bears QB I've ever seen wasn't getting through to some over the past four weeks? I called this one days ago saying JAX would elect to take away his running game and make him beat them with his arm knowing he couldn't and that is exactly what they did.
Even his so called accuracy failed him today when he threw 5-7 behind and open AJ in the end zone and we settled for a chip shot FG and then sailed one over Miller's head on a key 3rd down play that failed. And those are just two I can relate to off hand because my live stream sucked so bad I missed half the game and most of the replays.
Yeah, he'd make a great "place holder" 'til we get another QB provided we can accept having in the first or second overall choice two years running like Cleveland. If you want to do that what better than to have your starting QB be one of those guys who helped Cleveland do it. LOLOL
They need some plays that push the ball down the field, they are married to this ""dink and dunk" style of offense regardless of where we are on the field or on the scoreboard. If he cant throw the ball well over 10 yards I hope he never expects to be anything more than a backup for the rest of his life
So are most of us finally beginning to accept that he doesn't have an NFL arm? I think I pointed that out at least two games ago but got a lot of resistance to it.
Last week I said that regardless of how open AJ was on that 4th down play Hoyer could not have made that throw with enough on it to assure a score and THAT is why he chose not to throw it and not the BS reason he gave about mis-reading coverage. I got flack over that too.
Once any team figures out what throws he can actually make in the game, they adjust to them like JAX did and take them away, he's screwed and his production plummets. He was 7-10 on 3rd downs (70%) in the first half and 0-7 (nada) in the second half. What I've been saying makes some sense now doesn't it?
He couldn't even out play Blake Bortles today for cripes sake after Bortles spotted him the entire first three quarters of the game! Can't wait to hear what Foxy has to say about his self-manufactured QB controversy this week. Hell, I hope Hoyer can start the next to games as well and put the final nails in both his and Fox's coffin.
I keep looking but I can't find the rule that says the Bears can't use plays in the second half that worked great in the first half.
It's clear to me that all the players played a hard game it's Fox and Loggains have no idea how to coach the Bears. One of these two if not both need to go and go now.
And if won't do the Bears one bit of good to end up with a top 5 or better if Pace is still the GM. It isn't like his first round picks are playing any where what a first rounder should be playing at.
Much like Indy once Jax figured out Hoyer's limitations and took away those throws he's as cooked as Christmas goose. Even that last throw to AJ on 4th down took a month of Sundays to get there which gave Ramsey time to recover and defend it. For a brief moment AJ was open but Hoyer has no velocity on his ball so the pass is broken up.
There's no sense in getting rid of Loggains and keeping Fox. Besides we have no one else who could step in as OC but with Fangio we do have a DC who could be the interim HC for the rest of this year then we do a reset in January. This is far worse than even Trestman could manage so far and he had Tucker's defense to overcome not Fangio's.
If Emery and Trestman were embarrassing Mama Bear and had her pissed off I'm surprised this isn't giving her a coronary. If the McCaskey's aren't willing to bite the bullet and wipe the slate clean again then they will have gone back on their promise of change until change produces results. As far Pace I just wish I knew what his deal may be like now had he not had Fox stirring the personnel pot and forcing his hand on draft picks but if he has to go too so be it.
Insanity is continuing to do the same thing but expecting different results and continuing on this path is insane.
There should be a box for that cow pasture they're playing on . Maybe they win if Porter doesn't slip on the TD , cuz it ain't like the Jags were having their way with us .
So we didn't get a meaningless win ... who cares . I'm more interested in a better draft slot at this point .
And yet another issue they continue to turn a blind eye to and refuse to fix. Porter wasn't the only one losing his footing out there his was just the most costly.
