This was certainly one hell of a way to get a center.
Whitehair looked even better today. He's gotten better every game. And that has to be a huge adjustment for a rookie who was a LT in college, to go to LG in camp to C in his first regular season. The guy has some rough edges but he looks like he will be an amazing center for us. It will be interesting to see what they do when Grasu is healthy.
So ... next year Grasu back at C , Whitehair to RG and Long to RT - from the START of camp . And please , none of the caterwauling about leaving Long at RG . He's athletic enough to be a T , and would be an upgrade over anyone we've had out there in ages ... and maybe , finally , we'd have a truly 'good' solid O-line that a young QB can actually develop behind .

Looks like year two where our 2nd round pick will make the All Rookie Team while our 1st round picks are getting murmurs of being busts. Should we just trade down forever more?
I was really pumped with the Whitehair pick. I think we got a very special player. He was a LT in college, but can play G and C too.
Have to admit that I did not particularly like the pick. Glad I was wrong.
Lets not call Floyd a bust yet. We won't know what he for sure for another year or two.
Idd, and White is slow but steady improving, so there is hope. That being said Floyd will probably not see the field too much when McPhee is back. We really miss him, not even Young can generate enough pressure

Unless Floyd starts playing at a Lawrence Taylor level there is going to be a part of the fan base that will call him a bust as they have ridiculous expectations for first round draft picks.

Agreed, and there is always discussions about how there is such a high bust rate in the NFL in the first rd, it's not just WR and QB, it's every position. And teams picking high are going to have higher rates b/c they are bad teams, if not outright bad organizations always picking at the top.
Sometimes you just have to give these guys time to develop.
Huh...look at that...hey do we have a guy here who has a guy who knows everything about Kansas State football and is never wrong? Just asking for a friend....
