If you think he will be elite, you take him even if he isn't ranked 1st Overall by media. If he busts, you better watch out.
But are any of these QBs truly elite? Both seem to not be having the best of luck in their college games recently while Garrett is still doing is thing.
Garrett does look like a man among boys out there ( though he did get injured this week ) . He's a special talent , but they still need to do their homework on him ... make sure he doesn't have any of that BS in his DNA , make sure he's healthy etc etc .
QB for sure. Give Floyd a year more and with McPhee back + Young we should be able to generate pressure. Unless you can get the next Von Miller, Watt or Mack.
Zif I think you're dreaming to think McPhee will ever be the player he was. I'm betting that knee is pretty well shot. If not we'll know soon enough after he gets off the PUP IF he gets off the PUP. Even that isn't assured.
By the time he can play again he will have been off for nearly a year and hasn't even been able to work himself back into football shape or practice once this year. I would like to think he isn't done for too but I'm being as realistic as I can. The guy is fighting back against a career ender here and it's not looking good.

Know what ? fk it I'll say it - he's done , he's toast .
I'd rather have a Rodgers, Brady, Manning or Brees in their prime than a Watt or Miller. That's nothing against the D guys, but we are talking elite QBs here. Guys that will make the POs almost without much help.
Too late. LOL Actually 30 year old plus QB usually are in their prime. Look at how many have been in their 30s and some like Elway well into their 30s before they won a SB.
That's why when people start talking about a 33 year old QB not being a QB of the future I tend to think they don't know what the hell they're talking about. Who won the last SB the young stud who couldn't be contained all year or the old pro. Shit Brady is 39 and he'll probably win another this year.
Ideally now is when you want to start finding and developing a young guy so that in the 3 years he is a winner for you and you may go through one or two before you find the right guy. That's why I scratched my head when the Bears passed on a kid like Prescott who I thought was a great fit for drafting ILB and DB depth. Prescott had to rank higher than at least one of those three defensive picks so I don't believe that BS Fox is pedaling about that at all.
I'm sorry but Fox is never gonna admit he's wrong unless there's some documented evidence of it. He'll just waffle on it or make some BS excuse like he did about not challenging that 3rd and 1 in the Houston game and then it was only when the video proved it did he give in but still laid the blame on not having the right view or his guys in the booth. At least he seems to have learned from that **** up but where it may have made a difference in the Houston game it amounted to zip against the Cowboys.
It was like the lame excuse he gave for going for it on 4th down against the Broncos instead of taking the FG and trying to score again. We did but it forced us to go for two which failed when the prior FG and a PAT would have won that game. So that loss last year I put on him. Great coaches don't make game day mistakes like that and he is not one.
How many times will we be able to draft a QB in the Top5?
You don't need to draft in the top five to find a good QB. There are a lot of quality passers who weren't top five picks and just as many failures as successes. That's a load of crap being passed off by drafniks and the media who just want something to write about now and the Bears and Cutler are an easy target.
Who was the top pick in the draft? Is he playing? How well is TD doing with Winston? If Tennessee winning each week with Mariota? How many playoff games has Indy won with Luck? Wentz is far more the exception than the rule and the season is still young for him.
Hell, the Broncos 1st rd QB is sitting on the bench and their 3-0 with a 7th round pick.

Far more QBs have become elite through their play in the NFL than have been drafted elite as top five picks. Manning may actually be on of the few and Elway wasn't considered elite 'til he finally won back to back SBs in the last two years of his career.

There's no way to answer that because QBs become elite through their play they aren't drafted elite by NFL standards. You read and listen to too much draftspeak. They said Floyd has "elite" speed and athleticism. How many sacks has that gotten him so far? KW has 4.35 speed. That's considered elite especially in a 6'3" 217lbs body. He's averaging around 10 ypc. Some deep threat eh?
You want two QBs drafted in round two who BECAME elite? Brett Favre and Drew Brees.
Sorry brother but that's the way it truly works. The NFL draft and pre-draft is all about entertainment not about anything else. It's afterward on the field players become elite.....or not.

Totally agree. Give a QB a good O-line and some weapons and he'll do great. Just look at the Cowboys. Let's be honest would he be truly as good without that O-line helping him out?
Let's look at a few great QBs draft picks:
Joe Montana: Round 3 Pick 82 Brett Favre: Round 2 Pick 33 Tom Brady: Round 6 Pick 199 Kurt Warner: Undrafted Aaron Rodgers: Round 1 Pick 24 Peyton Manning: Round 1 Pick 1 Roger Staubach: Round 10 Pick 129 Drew Brees: Round 2 Pick 32 Ben Roethlisberger: Round 1 Pick 11 Dan Marino: Round 1 Pick 27
That is a list of a few legends as well as active players.
