Hubbard is a 4-3 guy, so I hope we don't get him. Landry or Hernandez of those 4. Key bothers the heck out of me, great potential but if the head/heart aren't there it doesn't matter.
This is not me saying I want Hubbard, I know zilch about him. But if the biggest knock on him is that he’s more a 4-3 guy, isn’t the fact that the Bears don’t play their base 3-4 a good chunk of the time kind of negate that concern?
It's a valid point and the reason many said you could afford to draft Minkah, but Id rather them take a real 5 tech over another smaller DE, who they have in Bullard and RHH. They need a near 300 lb'r that can help stack blocks and keep the smaller LB'rs the Bears now have clean.
Hubbard reminded me a lot of Joey Bosa, which makes me wonder if he really is just a 4-3 DE only or could he switch to a 3-4 OLB?
I agree w/ you on Key, dude could be this year's Robert Nkemdiche. High ceiling, lot of potential but legit character concern.
I really like Hernandez, in fact he's my favorite G behind Nelson and I'd love to have him. Unless of course Harry Hiestand thinks the guys we have are more than enough, then we definitely must pick a pass rusher instead. Good thing the second rd starts at 6pm central.
If Pace can swing a small trade down to gain us another 4th, that would be realistic and helpful. Just not sure if someone like Carter will make it there. It’s risky.
I do give Pace credit for showing real skill in finding hidden talent in the 4th and 5th rounds. No question he seems to have a knack for it. That’s why a scenario like this is so appealing. We’d have a mid-2nd to grab an edge rusher plus 4 picks on the first half of day 3 for Pace to go treasure hunting with.
