He's estimating $32 mil less $5 mil for the draft pool to come up with $27 mil whereas I used a full $7.5 mil for the draft pool like Spotrac does to come up with $25-$26 mil. So we're in the same ball park give or take $1-$1.5 mil. $5 mil is actually more realistic but IMHO it's always better or over allow than under allow for any contingency. Too much cap trumps too little.
So we still have room to make a few more moves.
I hope we at least extend Goldman.
I'd say deals for Goldman and Amos are probably forthcoming once FA and the Draft are over. After the rookie OTAs in May and June vet OTAs we could see more roster shuffling and possible trades.
I don't think any of the tendered guys will be offered extensions until 1/2 way through the season if then. Over all I think they are in a good position cap wise.
I can't imagine they'll be interested in extending Meredith until he proves more on the field. We are talking about a UDFA with one year of good production who then tore his ACL in preseason and missed all 16 games.

And I agree. Their tenders are already accounted for in the cap and unless someone makes them an offer I don't expect that to change. Both having some degree of injury history should keep potential offers at bay but we'll know soon enough.

Exactly. I think we tend to over-value Meredith because he served as the counterfoil to Jeffery. In our minds, we built him up to everything Jeffery wasn't. But the way the game goes, he has to re-prove who he is at this point. Unless someone makes an offer he's playing for 1.9 mil.
Spotrac still shows Freeman on the Roster chewing up $4M cap space
According to OTC, we can cut him any time and save about $3.5 million (Either pre June 1 or later). Looks like our maximum cap hit if we cut him is $500K.
