I like ya'lls optimism. I am trying to get there. It's not working. I am so jaded on the Bears, I am taking a very wait and see approach. I do hope that Nagy can get the ship righted. But man, that ship is in some pretty dire straits.
Ship isn't as in bad of shape as it was 4-8 years ago. Now it just needs some serious patching. Starting w/the nutrition and fitness program. Rusty Jones is now consulting teams, he needs to be contacted to correct this issue like he corrected it when he joined the Bears.
Then they need to re sign Prince and Fuller(as long as he's not getting Gilmore money offers), I still say FT him, give them man money for 1 year and make him prove he can do it again, then start working on his real extention. At that point get a DE and another OLB in FA, resign guys like Acho and Jones who are nice depth players, and get a few WR's in FA, and start drafting BPA.
Bears have a good young qb, a talented set of RB's. Potential at TE. ILB's look solid for starters(Danny T and Nick K), and S's are a set. DL is mostly set also(Hicks/Goldman). Do need help at G(long/Sitton are hurt to much or old) and probably need a RT upgrade at thise point. But it's not like the team is full of holes so large you cannot see it getting done in the next year or 2. It's a young talented team w/some issues but fixable issues.
If Fangio stays that process excelerates. If they stay healthy next year and don't have another brutal strength of Schedule look for them to easily pass 8 wins

There is some hope though. And if we can retain Fangio and match that D with a legit offense, then things COULD turn around here. I wasn't thinking of Nagy as our HC at all. But I have to admit the pick could be a good one. We have a young Trubisky and now a young HC and GM. If this thing does work, then the Bears could be set for a long time to come.
And I am relieved that we are moving on from Fox.
If nothing else, I am super-curious and excited, to see what happens this year. Could be good. I'm happy about the moves so far. I just hope we can nail down Fangio. I just believe that would increase the chances of Nagy getting off to the right start here.
I am not sure how all of these changes will affect GB. I know they are meant to make them better, but you never know how wholesale changes work out until they are put in place. Even if they hurt them, they will never be chumps while they have Rogers. They are going to be in it.
I personally believe that Patricia is very good and will raise Detroit. That is not good news for us as they are already better than we are. However, I also believe (at least today at 5 am) that our changes will help us considerably. The question is.... which changes are going to make the biggest difference?
And of course, these are the leadership changes. It remains to be seen what the leadership does with player talent, which ultimately is the reason you want good leadership. The combination of leadership along with the players they bring in and how they develop them is really going to be the change that will determine how much each team gets better.
The better the leaders and talent evaluators and developers, the better the player talent should be and one will feed the other as they leaders make their mark. We'll see how this shapes up. The teams in the division are all trying to get better. Thank goodness we jettisoned Fox. We would have continued to lose ground.

Patricia probably to Giants
Whoa.....that's a bit of a surprise. I thought Bob Quinn was a lock to get him in Detroit.
I think what we may begin to see in the NFCN is more parity between the teams where no one team will dominate every year. I don't know that I'd say GB is getting any weaker as much as I'd say everyone else is getting stronger.

Well, GB will release Rodgers.. NFL rules, right?
Yep, NFL rules. Unless your name is Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers.
