But it's so easy you say. And we shouldn't take them in the first round. So I ask again...how come we haven't found any? And don't tell me Pace hasn't looked...we've brought in plenty of receivers.
How about with FAs? Well, going by his track record. He doesn't go after them prime players and rather go after those injury prone players or those guys who are at the end of their career.
Again these are Pace mistakes, you're not going to get a WR if you never attempt to find one.
The only WR pace got after Kevin White was Cameron Meredith ( Undrafted) and he was our best WR last year beating out Alshon Jeffery in yards while not even starting until week 5.
Many WRs coming off of their contract year and some will be in the market. We got the cap space to sign one. Its all on Pace if he's going to go the cheap route or be willing to get quality talent.
In his first off season he signed Eddie Royal, Cameron Meredith, Ify Umodu, AJ Cruz, Deonte Thompson, Jalen Saunders, and Nathan Palmer. His second off season he signed Marcus Lucas, Marc Mariani, Derek Keaton, Darrin Peterson, Kieren Duncan, and Darius Jennings. This past off season he signed, Reuben Randle, Dres Anderson, Markus Wheaton, Kendall Wright, resigned Deonte Thompson, Tanner Gentry, Jhajuan Seals, Titus Davis, Victor Cruz, Alton Howard, claimed Tre McBride, Mario Alford, Darreus Rogers, and traded for Dontrelle Inman.
So all in all he's acquired in one way or another 29 receivers. Almost 10 an offseason. Now...you can say he needs to spend higher equity on the receivers he acquires...but thats not your argument or what you want to do...so you don't get to say that. Clearly though...it's not that easy to find a good receiver...now is it?
