Let me let you in on a little secret: no one takes more shots at the Vikings than ... Vikings fans. I can take it.
You seem honest, easygoing and open-minded, so I'm sure you'll fit in just fine.
And you're the first female member here (I think). Welcome aboard!
That is awesome, we need more female's around. My Wife is a Bears fan as well but on the boards. She did not care for football because she did not know the rules much, Also we are Canadian so it is perhaps not as popular as the US.
I have encouraged her to pick a couple of teams to follow and find a team she liked. She started to follow the 49ers(blatch!!!) But thankfully she came back home to Da Bears.
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! I'll definitely stick around. No worries! It seems like a good group over here.
Regarding me being a female, weeeeell, I'm not your typical female or maybe not even your typical football fan. I'm definitely a diehard. I have season tickets (all me, not because of a spouse or anything lol), own and run my own Vikings message board, have Vikings stuff on my car, in my bedroom, half of my wardrobe, etc. I'm definitely in love with my Vikings! Everyone who knows me knows I love my Vikes. It's literally part of my identity. lol.
Sure, I love my Vikes, but I also love the NFL as a whole. If it's Sunday (or Monday or Thursday), I'm watching football. I don't care who is playing; if it's NFL, I'm watching. I've pretty much watched football from noon til the end of SNF every Sunday for the past 15+ years. What can I say? I live for football ... if that wasn't made clear by now.
Born and raised in Appleton WI. Less than 30 miles from Lambeau. Been a Vikings fan since Nov. 6th 1966. Vikings played the Packers and won. Kids had been teasing me in school because I stuttered. When I mentioned the game in school the next day I realized I had shot at getting back at them. Being a big fan of purple and liking Vikings in real life didn't hurt. Anyway, the Packers were at the cusp of years of mediocrity and I jumped on the Viking ship at the right time. I know more Packer history than most Packer fans. And it annoys the hell out of them when they find out I'm right.
Anyway, good to be aboard.
And I start out as a Rookie not a Cheerleader. Cool.

It is great to have you here. Thanks (very much) for joining our board. On game days we usually have the shoutbox going during the game with some good comments. I am hoping we can have you folks join us during the Bears/Vikes games. I was thinking that could be pretty cool. Sometimes we also visit there during other sports events.
