Look Ric, those of you who expect Cutler to put this team on his back and carry it himself will ALWAYS find ways to be disappointed in his performance including Olin Kreutz and Big Cat Williams.  There's a reason why they aren't playing anymore either and if I'm gonna take anyone's outside evaluation of a QB it would be another QBs not two OL. 

If their counterparts who were playing yesterday had done their jobs perfectly we wouldn't even be having this debate because we would have scored more than 14 points.  Whitehair's botched snap cost us a drive while we still had the momentum to score again.  We gave it up after that play.  And on at least three of the sacks the replays showed all of his receivers to be covered so either he throws and risks a pick or takes the sack and we keep the ball.  On the one that caused the fumble he was blindsided so badly I'm surprised he got up and walked off after recovering his own fumble.

In years past Cutler would make those throws into coverage trying to create something out of nothing and get criticized if he was picked off.  Now they have him reined in and have asked him to protect the ball rather than make a risky throw so which way do you, Olin, and Big Cat want it because ya' can't have it both ways?  Ric in your mind Cutler will always be the root of the problem so no matter what he does or doesn't do he'll somehow be in the wrong.  It's called the son of a bitch game and somehow the son of a bitch is always gonna be at fault somewhere somehow.

I'm not even gonna address the clairvoyance it would take for two old pros sitting and watching a game on TV or in the booth could know with 100% certainty the pass that White failed to finish his route on would have been picked anyway.  That's beyond ridiculous to even state that as any kind of fact.  It's not.  It's an opinion and a pretty sketchy one at that. It's the same with saying a pass to Jeffery might have been picked if not for Jeffery unless you're prepared to say it about every pass he made.  Can we stop playing the "coulda games" for once and deal with what actually happened in the game.  Facts, not fiction or opinions.

Cutler was 10-13/77% for over 150 yards no picks and one TD in the first half when he was getting decent protection.  I don't know how to convert that into a QBR with 100% accuracy but we both know it would be way over 100.  In the second half Houston made adjustments Loggains had no response to, the protection broke down, he had no real support from the running game, his receivers dropped key catches or ****ed up on their routes and that was that. It was almost like two separate games.  The second half was a poorly coached and poorly executed unmitigated disaster for the entire team Cutler included and I can't find any posts where I called him a shining light so I have no idea where that idea came from.

This isn't too hard to figure at all.  If the entire team had played even close to as well as they'd played in the first half Cutler finishes the game with a QBR near or over 100, we win, and no one would be criticizing him which is always high on the list of those who choose to do it.  You do and I do not.  IMHO QBs always get more credit than they deserve when they win and more blame than they deserve when they lose because they're the highest profile player on any offense.  I can't change that but I don't intend to change my opinions of it either based on how others may choose to see it.  I can think for myself without any help from The Score and their analysts.

It could get better, but like in the Jay thread, I again think we will get to 20-22 points per game. I just dont see this O higher than that

I don't claim to know.  But I think the ceiling for this season's offense will depend upon how much improvement we see in the offensive line.  If it doesn't get much better with the OL, then I don't think the offense can do very much this year.  But, if the Oline does improve steadily game-by-game, we could see a significant improvement, IMHO.

The OL did struggle yesterday against a really good defense.  But I think this OL will get better, and that will open up the run-game which will help the passing game.  And it goes without saying that pass protection improvement will help the passing game.  And also, the blocking obviously goes beyond just the OL.  I think the blocking can and will improve with those non-OL players too.
