I obviously didn't see your game today. How did Sitton do?
He played well in pass blocking but the offense did little running up the gut behind the power backs so it was harder to judge his run blocking.
Overall though I'd say even in his first game he was better than any alternative we might have used and it allowed us to move the rookie Whitehair to OC where he played fairly well except for a botched snap on 4th down that cost us a drive and probably a score. That was a momentum changing blunder though because we could have scored and been up 14-0 if we'd not had the drive stopped by that.
Whitehair had a couple of errors really, covering no one, but he will gett better, and soon
Cap will ensure some of these guys are gone. I would think we will lose: Lang, Lacy, Peppers, Perry, D. Jones, Hyde and Barclay.
They will try to sign young Olinemen Bakhtiari and Trettor.
BTW, Our first round pick this year is injured. Could you imagine the super bowls we'd have if Ted could hit on a first rounder once in a while? We literally start the draft in round two:(
Do you really need to talk about 1st rounds busts on the Bears forum? Really?
How true and yet every year the Cutler boo birds keep screaming for us to spend a 1st round pick on a QB despite the fact that around the NFL about 2/3rds of them fail and for us all of them fail.
Has Cutler succeeded, or did I miss something? And I don't think he's talking just about 1st round qb busts b/c there are plenty of 1st round busts outside QB, DE/OLB's that Chicago picks for instance....You know of whom I speak. Lets not forget the OL's the Bears have drafted, and the CB. Been plenty of not super play from 1st round picks, and some flat busts.

You'll probably get a kick out of this.
After we signed Sitton I sent a text to may daughter in GB wanting to ask my grandson about any potential injury concerns. The kid is a 13 year old walking encyclopedia of NFL knowledge, especially about the Pack.
Joe told me the worst was a foot injury that was old and some back stuff he can play with so I knew we'd made a good move signing him. When I closed out our text I said good bye and I love you to my daughter as I always do. This was her response.

I think my point was our luck drafting QBs in round one has sucked to put it mildy.
If we could say **** here I would have said it's fucking sucked. LOL
So compared to those, and that's all we have to compare to, yeah. Cutler has succeeded.
Don't tell me you were unhappy about how he played today when he actually had time to throw.
Every GM/HC combo negates previous GM/HC failures. The past doesn't predict the future, especially when it comes to changes at the top.
Not sure you can prove that at all on the next 2 statements.
I thought Cutler looked like Cutler always looks, like a qb that is average, he can make plays at times, but in the end he's a qb that every def wants to throw the ball a lot b/c he's bound to make mistakes(even if not a turnover).

I wouldn't call that 1st half very average not with two long drives for TDs the second coming on 3 plays with time running down. You think Hoyer could have done as well? Hoyer is what I would call an average QB.
I don't recall seeing him make many second half mistakes either but I did see each of our starting WRs make one and each one was a drive killer and KW's led to points and the second turn in momentum against us.
Ric, none of that was on Cutler period. He got sacked and got up and played the game the best he could under the circumstances. Tell me, what major mistakes did he make? That pick goes on his stats but we both know who caused it. The one fumble came on a blind side hit so hard it's surprising he got up and instead he recovered his own fumble. So what mistakes was he "bound to make" despite the pressure he was under all second half?
They scored 14 points, so above average, but not by much.
No Hoyer is crap. There is a reason Cutler is not a top 1/3 rd qb anymore.
I'm strictly going off Kruetz and Big Cat, but while KW didn't finish is route, the int they put on Cutler saying that even if White finishes the route it's still a pick; and I'd point out that Cutler well could have been picked on the first pass if not for Jeffery.
Cutler wasn't good enough, nothing around him was either, but that doesn't mean he was good enough either. You always try and deflect his faults by pointing out others. Again per Kruetz and Olin at least 3 of the sacks were on Cutler. I'll take their word on it over yours, or mine or any other fan/hater.
Just admit he, and the rest of the team failed to make plays. Where have I said he was the reason for the loss, or he was the only problem? He wasn't, but he wasn't the lone shining light either.
14 points brother in todays NFL is not a good outing.
