No love for Jonathan Allen anymore? I could see him being a good guy for the Bears. I know he is a similar size to Jonathan Bullard who didn't look good at 5T in Fangio's system but I honestly think that is an issue with Bullard more than anything else.
If you think back to Fangio's defense with the niners they had Justin Smith play one of the 5T spots. Now I'm not saying that Allen would be the athlete that Justin Smith was but he would at least be a similarly sized guy and being undersized didn't seem to be an issue for Smith.
Smith was a pretty freaky athlete...he ran a 4.54 and a 4.6 in the 40 when he came out. He also was 265 pounds too.
Something about Allen I'm just not sold on. Maybe it's because he played less than 50% of the defensive snaps and I worry about how he'd be as a full time guy...maybe it's his injury history and my view of Alabama players...I don't know.
Lotta great guys to pick from here. I like Adams and Thomas I like Garrett and Allen... Still, if I were making that selection on Thursday night it's Watson and it's not even close... He could bust - sure. Maybe he's horrible. Fine. We need to start trying to fix the QB situation. As far as the whole wait till Fox is gone stuff...why? I think now's the perfect time to get the quarterback PACE likes and that fits PACE'S vision. If Fox is here and gone and the QB busts, Fox's firing provides some cover for the draft pick. If Fox is gone and the pick works out we're one step closer to being a playoff team. If Fox stays and the pick is good - alright then.

+1 on Watson. Right now I am watching the Clemson/Louisville game. Fifth game of the season. Two unbeaten teams in prime time Saturday night football. Clemson is actually the underdog at this early point of the season. Great game to watch. I've kind of gotten hooked on college football this off-season.
I'd love to go to a Clemson football home game. I'll bet that's a tough ticket to get though.
why wait again? What's the Argument next year for not taking one? Wouldn't it fix many Problems if we get our QB and hit?
IMHO? No, it would not. What's the reason? I've given it many times. Drafting a QB high under Fox is a waste and 2017 would be wasted year in his development. I think Pace should draft a QB just not in round one. I'd like to see him spend his first three picks on potential starters and a rookie QB won't start.
If we hit on a QB, why do you think it's a waste under Fox? If we hit and have 8+ Ws, Fox won't get fired.

Wow 4.6 40 for a DE. I had to google this to check. That's insane.
