I don't know how anyone can be confident of Kevin White after two years of being a bust. I'm kinda sick of hearing excuses for this kid. We drafted him at #7 and he hasn't perform once to his overall pick value.
He's been injured, not a bust, injured. Again Clowney is the perfect example of why you don't start calling early drafted players busts to soon. And last year he started to flash, and got hurt.
That being said, this is the make/break year for him though. He needs to stay healthy and preform like he started to last year or the team needs to move on from him.
Is there any example of a WR coming back and looking like a Pro Bowl player?
I didn't see any flash. He looked just as bad as he did week 1. I hope he does flash this season but that just seems very unlikely.
You didn't see flash b/c you never wanted to. But Bears analysts did. How many examples of NFL players have been injured 2 years in a row, let alone from a specific position? That really doesn't prove anything one way or another.

I never saw any flash either and I wanted to. What I saw was improvement. Maybe improvement. Not the kind of improvement that left me saying for sure this kid is on the right track. Going from pretty well nothing to catching a few. What I call a flash is something that shows superstar even for just a partial play. I didn;t see him edging anyone out with size or power or making any kind of crazy catch that takes your breath away. I didn;t see the speed I wanted to see.
I still hope that this year we see some of that stuff. We really need for him to be the #1 WR that we let go. I want to see him get there.

I saw some "oh he's getting it" and playing fast, and he is fast. That was backed up by people I trust saying he was showing flashes. But ya we need to see what he has, and the only way to do that is to stay healthy this year.

Or maybe you saw flash when there wasn't any. I might of not liked the Kevin White pick but that doesn't mean I want him to fail.
So there are 0 WRs who missed 2 years in their rookie season and came back to be a great WR?
Kinda helping prove my point. No reference to comparison hurts white's odds of coming back to what he should of been.

I have people who's jobs are to look at and break down the bears. Who do you have?
How many PLAYERS ahve missed their first 2 years? It's super rare, it doesn't mean anything.
No reference point means there is nothing there. You cannot use it.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. White was drafted at #7 to become a superstar. He has shown nothing of that. I'm not expecting him to do it every play but it would of been nice seeing a play that took your breath away without it being blind luck.
I don't think he has to kick ass, but he does have to stay healthy and show some chops. Something close to 1000 yards and 8-10 TDs
I would consider that to be a kick-ass season for a guy playing in only his 5th NFL game starting this September.
Okay, well then we agree. I'm not expecting him to be a superstar, uber stud, nor am I expecting him to be in the top 10 of WR's when this team is likely not going to throw enough to allow it, and he's not experienced enough to benefit from it if they were.
I want to see him play 12-14 games, at minimum, preferrably all 16 games(inj's can happen but nothing more then 1-2 missed weeks at a time) And I want to see him be a reliable target that shows speed and explosion. If that happens next year we can talk about taking another step.

Problem is... every time he takes another step, he breaks a leg. He'd be better off standing still
