Couldn't agree more. Yeah MM isn't going to make any pro bowls but the guy was money last year out of the slot and Jay obviously trusts him. Something I can't say about butterfingers Bellamy and wrong route White.
I'm shocked by that cut too. I'm very interested to see who are WR will be.
Not sure I understand your comments about White or Bellamy. I don't think either of those player's spot on the roster were in question. Bellamy and White didn't beat out Mariani - they weren't competing with him. Mariani lost the job - probably - because he doesn't have STeams value and because they're interested in going a different direction in the slot. Bellamy is a stud STeamer and was shown himself as a capable WR. White as safe as safe can be for a roster spot. He has a lot to learn but his ceiling is still incredibly high.
FWIW: Things are looking good in Deonte Thompson's house today.
They weren't in question but for different reasons. Bellamy makes it 95% for STs. The guy can run but has Hester-hands on offense. White of course was a lock but isn't a slot guy. The slot receivers were Royal, Mariani, and Braverman--2 of the 3 are now gone and Royal hasn't been healthy in nearly a year and that's not an exaggeration. I'm just really surprised they cut MM given he was the #2 slot guy, Cutler obviously has chemistry with him, he was a solid #4 type player last year, and he's a backup return man.
They obviously have a lot more faith in Bellamy to have an expanded role in the O than I do. We shall see.
