Chicago Bears release WR Daniel Braverman

Rookie wide receiver Daniel Braverman enjoyed a quick start to the Bears’ 2016 training camp, but his lack of production during the preseason led to his release today, as reported by Pro Football Talk.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, and we touched on the possibility of Braverman getting cut here.
There’s still a chance that the Western Michigan product will be stashed on the Bears’ practice squad if he clears waivers, which is highly probable considering his inability to make any impact plays this summer.
His release also increases the odds that Cameron Meredith did enough to earn the last wide receiver spot on the active roster.
In addition to Braverman, the Chicago Bears have released long snapper Patrick Scales and offensive tackle Jason Weaver.
The release of Weaver should all but solidify a roster spot for Mike Adams, who was added to the roster on August 10. Adams will serve as the team’s swing tackle in 2016 after starting 20 games for the Steelers between 2012 and 2014. He missed all of 2015 while recovering from a back injury but has proven to be healthy enough to, presumably, earn a roster spot with the Bears for 2016.
Scales was in a training camp battle with free-agent addition Aaron Brewer for long snapper duties, but the coaching staff’s familiarity with Brewer during his time in Denver likely broke the tie.
