I read this and had a great laugh. We've just committed $19 mil to someone else's backup QB whom the author and many others feel we should be looking to draft his eventual replacement immediately. Only the Bears could possibly be so screwed up in their seemingly endless pursuits for a true franchise QB.If Glennon is not the QB of the future at least we're rid of Cutler right and we don't have to spend another season watching Hoyer dink and dunk his way to losses or Barkley throw even more balls up for grabs than Cutler on his worst days. You all realize we didn't gain anything here don't you? This was simply a change for the sake of a change.
The only positive I see coming from this is that Fox has another mediocre vet QB he can live with for now (until he won't) to lead his pathetic excuse for an offense through yet another mediocre season, or worse, and collect one more years worth of paychecks before being sent into perpetual retirement. I don't think even he has enough lives to rebound from being fired while under contract a third time.
When all is said and done I can't help but feeling this is just one more year wasted in an attempt create a winning franchise by those who have no idea how to do it correctly. The pile of crap at the McCaskey's feet is getting deeper but they still want us to keep wading in. Is it ever gonna end?
