Man, I feel like I've seen this movie so many times before. Is this one of those films where you can select alternate endings? I hope so.
unfortunately (or fortunately???) we don't get to select the ending. We only get the opportunity to blow our wads on merchandise and tickets and satellite TV.
Glennon? Cutler? Hoyer? Who cares. One's as bad (or as good) as the other. with our injured/inexperienced/suspended receivers, our dynamite tight ends and with Logjam making the calls, does any QB really have a shot to be good here? For the record, I'm as against Glennon as I am Cutler. But I'm way more anti-Hoyer. If we sign Glennon and he is our starter, I'll hope he does well. I just don't have any anticipation that he will. The rough part will be MSU'ing stuff about him - his name doesn't lend itself to jokes.
I think before we jump to conclusions, I think we better wait and see what happens with FA and the draft. 99% of these reporters who are in the know are just BSing.
NO!!! Let's jump to conclusions based on very incomplete facts!!!!

Ignore Glennon's record.
He had a bad OL.
He didn't have offensive weapons.
His coaches were poor.
The things people are saying in this thread about Glennon are almost verbatim the things they say can't be used as excuses when people evaluate Cutler.
I almost don't care who ends up at QB at this point, especially since I have no influence in the process, but some of you seem to be clinging more to a hope than an objective evaluation.

That is exactly what everyone said about Cutler, and no one had a problem with...for about 2 years, then it got some flack for the next 2 years....then it just became absurd for a Vet going on 10 years to be given the same excuses all over again.
In short, QB with 18 starts on a bad team w/bad coaches gets a incomplete. QB w/100 starts doesn't.

FWIW
Lawrence Tynes✔@lt4kicks Mike Glennon is the real deal.I was with him just a short time in Tampa but he reminded me a lot of Eli. Very calm yet confident.

Yes...and then Jay was given some weapons, and not much changed.
I think the irony is great; the same things were/are said as rationale for impotence by both QB's, yet both had to perform at least part of said impotence under the same impotent Head Coach.
So, in this case, a different movie, but the same actor; Lovie Smith.
I swear, some of this shit ya just can't make up. Sometimes there is no MSU that can match reality.

For no good reason whatsoever I am getting the feeling of deja vu all over again. Could this by Jay 2.0?
