I was reading this series of tweets on Howard. I found it interesting and informative. It does go on for a bit.
Beat me to it! Its a good thread, that as Ric said, highlights the limitations Howard both had within this offense and put on this offense. And again, I know it SOUNDS like I'm saying Howard was a bad back, I'm not. I'm simply stating he wasn't good for this offense and he limited what it could do. I know some will say a coach should adjust to the talent they have, and I agree with that. Nagy attempted to do that in season. Now it's the off season and Howard isn't the second coming of Walter Payton, so if Nagy would rather move on without him, I can't knock him for that.
Basically he is saying that Howard was seeing that he was no longer going to be one of the centerpieces of the Nagy offense, was upset about it and came in to the 2018 pre-season stuff completely out of shape.

Again, consider the source.
it's possible, think of how many times Nagy has mentioned this offseason that there won't be a centerpiece rb, 20-25 carries rb in his offense. Maybe he was getting it out w/out really talking bad about Howard who wanted that role.
funny thing is, he's not going to a team w/that role either...but more closely then Nagy's.
i think the bears draft a RB. going to be someone that can catch and has burst. RB is unloved position and deep this year so i'm hoping we get a contributor late.

Howard did look like crap at the beginning of the season and seemed strangely slow for much of it.

Just heard on The Herd that Duke Johnson wants out of CLE. He's kinda the type of RB Nagy likes, I wonder if we could've traded Howard for the guy and focused on other positions in the draft instead.

Thoughts?
If it was possible it would have happened. I doubt he'd be happy here if he's not happy in Cleveland. Not sure any stud rb is going to want to be in a RBbC w/sub 20 carries.

If Howard was truly upset he should have came to camp on fire. Prove he is a number 1 back. Could make sense and I did hear somewhere that he was injured, perhaps he was just out of shape.
Always 3 sides to each story, which one does this fall on thou. We will probably never know.

Cleveland just drafted Nick Chubb, who's a stud, and they just signed Hunt....why would they trade for Howard?

Depends on his character, some get fired up some lose any interest
