At least they got something for him. He wasn't a fit apparently in Nagy's offense. If they were set on moving on from him, I'm glad they did it now. That said, I always like Howard... I wish him well.
Howard was a 5th round pick, so I hope that we do end up with a 5th round for him instead of the 6th.
got a 6th that can be a a 5th. buts its 2020. got the right rounds but wrong year
So its a 5th/6th next year which means the equivalent of a 6th/7th this year.
Two things:
1) Once again this demonstrates how fans tend to overvalue (in trade) their own players. Mr. Market doesn't lie, gentlemen. The Bears have been trying to trade Howard for months now at least. Been the worst kept secret in the NFL. This is the best they could get and its even within the conference.
2) This proves what we had come to suspect--the team wanted to move on from Howard bad enough to accept pretty much chump change for him in trade. Nagy was done with him. Its sad to see him go but he just wasn't a fit anymore.
Thanks, Jordan, for being pretty much the only watchable thing on the 2016-2017 Bears offense. Wish you much success going forward. I enjoyed watching you bust some really nice runs.

I remember the last time we traded a very talented player for peanuts because he didn’t "fit the scheme."
