I think Vic will be offered a HC job. He may or may not take it. Every person is unique and every situation is unique. I'm hoping he stays here in Chicago, but you never know. It's his life. If he feels like he wants to have a head coaching experience in his life before he retires, I can understand that. I just retired a few days ago. I certainly can understand a guy wanting to give something a try before retiring. What's the worst that can happen for Vic? He can give it a go, and if it doesn't work out, well, he at least gave it a try. You only get one life here. Might as well live it to the fullest while you can.
Congrats on your retirement! I took nearly two weeks off of work over Christmas/New Year's and didn't want to come back to work. lol Only about 25 years to go!

Congrats!!! Thats awesome!
I think if he's offered an HC position he'll take it too. Obviously he wants to be an HC or he wouldn't even bother interviewing...so clearly it's a goal of his.
Thanks for the congrats. Mrs JABF is working me half to death though... we have a major home renovation that started 3 days ago. We are getting ready to move out for 3 weeks to a month. LOL, this is a heck of a lot more work than just going to the office :-)
But I gotta admit I do like being retired. Once the home reno is complete, we can kick back and enjoy it.

Congrats! And as far as I'm concerned, you've totally earned it after having spent so many years in law enforcement and the military (correct me if I'm wrong).
Looks like he is just not that guy that will be a good HC. That being said, he deserves his Chance.
why he would leave? to finally fullfil a "Dream".
What if he has no dream of being a HC?
Some people prefer doing one specific job. He's going to be 61 now with the #1 defense in the NFL. He could potentially win this franchise a few Super Bowls and be remembered far greater than Buddy Ryan and Mike Dikta...
This is a city that hasn't won a Ring in over 30 years... The people will always remember.

If he didn't want to be a head coach....he wouldn't even take an interview to be a head coach. I would think that would be self explanatory.

+1 One thing is Vic's favor is that he has a good gig now, so that he can be pretty blunt with anyone wanting to offer him a head coach position. I'll bet he'll lay out what he expects in a HC job and if they give him the assurances he wants, then he'll take the job. But, if they don't give him the authority he needs and wants at the next level, then he'll walk away. He won't know these things until he sits down with the new franchise people and they hash this out. I guess my point is that Vic doesn't just have to jump at any job. At least I don't picture him as doing that. If he gets those assurances then he will take the job though.
insert code here gb hired matt lefeur the 39 yr old oc for the titans. not exactly one of the top offenses this year, but did work with the la hc for awhile I believe. goes back to young and o minded as for what teams are wanting.
seems like a bit of a stretch honesty, probably better off staying with who they had if this is the best they could find this year.
