Poor game - loss was on Glennon for not taking care of the ball. But we didn't win in the trenches and we are a built as a team that needs to win in the trenches. Also offensive game plan was bad - if teams stack 8 guys in the box every down then they have to be willing to open up the passing game. Glennon has an ok arm - Loggains needs to give him a chance to lose it. We can't run Howard into 8 man boxes every down. It just leads to three and out each time - and the defence gets tired.
The deflated ball has to go to Glennon. However, John Fox has to pull the guy after the third turnover. Anytime your QB has three turnovers you bench him. It was clear at the half that Glennon was no threat to the TB defense. They had a perfect game plan for him and they executed it well. At that point, you have to adjust and change things up. Since that isn't possible with Glennon behind center because of his limited skill set, you need to put your #2 in. If you're uncomfortable putting Trubisky in you have to put Sanchez in (and that means you need activate him on game day).
Like I said in chat, I'd also put a lot of this game (and this team) on Pace's shoulders. After the Hick's signing, the Bears STILL have $16 million. I could understand that if the team looked good, but (and this is looking in the rearview mirror here) when the team looks this weak and the team has 16 million it's super frustrating. I'm also not convinced that Pace isn't the one making the decisions about the QB situation. He's the one who paid out the butt for Glennon and then signed Trubisky and then said Glennon's the starter. I think it's highly likely he's the one dictating the 'plan' for Trubisky.
Today was a brutal day for me as a Bear's fan. I was optimistic about this team. This loss sucked a lot of that optimism out of me. I imagine it did that with the players too. I think Fox will talk about responding to it this next week, and that's true. But he needs to do something to help them feel optimistic about it or there is no reason to respond.
I've been hesitant to plug Trubisky - and this might be a quick draw response - but today showed that MG is hurting the team. When that happens, you gotta change things up. It's time for Trubisky.
