I'm frustrated as well. This is unacceptable on all levels. To be honest I didn't expect the Bears to win. But put up a fight. That is why Emery/Trestman was fired.
I don't expect a GREAT team after 3 seasons of drafts and free agencies, but I think it is 100% reasonable to see some improvement in the team after 3 years of GM work. I measure a team by wins and losses - and also how we look in those games. I see zero improvement over the Jerry Angelo/Lovie Smith teams - and that is a damning indictment.
I picked "other" on this one because I think Ryan Pace gets the deflated football.
We are 3 drafts and 3 free agencies and 3 seasons into the Ryan Pace era. I asked myself after this game, "Is THIS what we should accept as an acceptable work product after three years?"
Maybe. But people turn franchises around in less time and have a better product to showcase than this.
I'm not saying throw in the towel on him. But I have to be honest here. I am frustrated.
Outside of one good FA and draft year. Pace has been lack luster.
Kevin White being the BIGGEST Bust we seen in a decade. Why would you draft a player with so little knowledge of the game at #7 when you could of had a franchise pass rusher at #7. Correct me if I'm wrong but ain't Pass Rushers more valuable then WRs?
To top it off Kevin White was suppose to be both Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery's replacement as #1. Jeffery may be injury prone but the man can at least play half a season. This dude has only played 5 games in 36 games... I don't know how anyone can say White is NOT a bust after that. Even if they still want to pretend he is. The man does not run his combine numbers on field, he cannot create separation, and cannot catch the ball.
Kevin White being a BUST really set this franchise back. You don't bounce back easily wasting a #7 pick on nothing.
The only starter we got out of our 2015 draft was Goldman. That is not acceptable.
Pace's FA was just as bad. Signing a injury prone pass rusher to big money while forced to keep the man as an rotational OLB do to his bad knee.
2016 FA and draft was just as bad.
First we traded up one spot to grab a QB. Something the 49ers had no plan on taking. Many reports were saying they were picking up Solomon Thomas with the #2 pick. Then we drafted an oversized TE with our #2 pick which has shown nothing so far. Would of been much better not trading up to get Trubs and using our 3rd round pick to trade up and get TJ Watt. At least he give us another young OLB.
Outside of Cohen, no other rookie has looked great. Our Free Agents are your typical injury prone Prince or out of his prime Demps. When is Pace going to spend money to get real talent? That's the only real way we're ever going to get players here.
Does Glennon have video of Fox with a tranny hooker in Bangkok or what?
How can you defend this guy? We CANT win with Glennon and he's NOT the best QB on the team, rookie mistakes and all.
Maybe he's got a pee tape.
If he does it's probably of the old fart pissing himself.
I was at breakfast with my daughters when the game began but got home just in time to watch Glennon throw that pick six. I'd like to know how he could stare down a single receiver like that and NOT see a DB hanging right off the guys hip just waiting.......no salivating would be a better word.......for him to make a lame weak ass wobbly pass to him he could pick off.
How does this supposed vet QB get to be a starter over a rookie by making mistakes that are just as bad or worse then the rookie might make. At least that rookie has mobility, accuracy, and an ability to learn from his mistakes which obviously Glennon has not. Or.....I could ask the question was it really Cutler who was the problem or was it this insipid, worthless, pathetic offense John Fox insists on running?
I cautioned about even drafting the QB of the future until John Fox's career as the Bears HC had been dead and buried but we did anyway. Now maybe it is best we don't play Trubisky until Pace fires Fox and IMHO when we finish the month 0-4 THAT would be a good time. Or when we've failed to win more than maybe a single game by the bye week THAT would be a good time as well.
If they're gonna start Trubisky then Fox needs to go. If not tomorrow then soon......very soon.
Hadn't see that one yet but how do you not see whose the open man unless you simply made a decision where to go with the ball before you even took a quick read of the coverage? If he's throws correctly Shaheen takes the pass upfield and gets a first down. Not just a bad read. It was a piss poor worse than a rookie bad read.

The reality is this, I expected better from Glennon cause he is a veteran.
Easily on Glen-neck, but Fox is in a tie for second for not mercy pulling for us Fans. The other 2nd place vote goes to our Strength and Conditioning team, who tha fack do these people know, blow, and what do they do? butkus3595 you know peeps.....get your ass in gear and help our Bears.....jebus cripes already!;!!
Edit: thanks LB for the help👍
I wish. Unfortunately, like head coaches the strength coaches are often retreads who are loyal to the HC. I would probably never be allowed to run a program the way I would want to because there are guys there now who are better than me with more experience who can't do that. It's unfortunate.

There's a very good chance we are gonna go 0-4 and then have a "mini-bye". That would be an excellent time to put both Fox and Glennon on an iceberg floating out to sea and wave goodbye and good luck.
It wont happen though. We are Chicago Bears and don't do bold things. We prefer the slow, agonizing bleed.

I still think it's a good idea to get through this brutal stretch of games with Glennon being the punching bag. It will suck for us fans in the short term, but long term I think we'll be pretty happy.

Ah, but a vet backup someone keeps trying to convince us has a starters skills. He hasn't.
Both picks were even worse than Cutleresque. Cutler tended to throw into coverage when he had no better choice and was trying to make something happen. Here Glennon did have have an open man and ignored him.
On the second pick the Bucs took to the house he looked that pass right into a receiver who was well covered. He never for one second went through any progression. He just stared the guy down and presented the DB with a gift TD.
Let's not forget than before Winston replaced him who has his own issues with turnovers Glennon was also benched for McCown. Fox made keeping Cutler impossible. Fox demanded a vet QB so Pace got him one and even though a rookie who only started 13 college games outplayed him in the preseason, and even after this piss poor showing today, Fox was still defending Glennon in his post game presser.
So why do we want this guy coaching the Bears. He' been an albatross even worse than Trestman was ever since he arrived. Trestman stunk but was at least humble about it. Fox behave like he has all the answers when he has none and won't even answer the questions he's asked honestly. He's an arrogant old fool who needs to go.
