Geoff Schwartz, OL Arthur Lynch, TE Terrance Knighton, NT John Sullivan, C Jake Stoneburner, TE Kyle Friend, C Chris Hackett, S Bjoern Werner LB/DE Quinton Coples, DE
Im amazed that he's not mentioning C Patrick Lewis
We've already talked about Knighton in another thread. IMO I would rather see us work with Terry Williams rather than Knighton. Knighton is at the end of his career and if he were a solid NT, why has he been kicked around the league like he has?
Yep. Biggsy offered his $.02 as well. We actually had a chance to sign Pot Roast last year when he was an UFA and once again this year when Washington released him and Fox and Fangio weren't interested. To think they would be now is not very likely. If "Pot" could still play at a higher level Belicheat wouldn't have released him.
The one guy on this list who may be of some help would be Sullivan. I think he'd give us more stability at OC than either Larsen or Edison. Other than him I don't see another name I like.
I'm surprised that Minny cut Sullivan, although I don't follow them closely. He would be a good depth pickup IMO.
I actually think he could start over both Larsen and Edison but they may have decided to keep working with Edison to develop him. I don't see a whole lot in the guy so far but then how much have I actually seen of him on tape compared to what they have. He was a very good college OC.
Like many above, I would not be opposed to bringing Sullivan in given our current circumstances along the O-Line. However, I've got to ask anyone that can answer, what is the deal with Coples? I know, Jets, then what, Miami, then the Rams. Well, I think the Rams are doing OK at DE and they were trying him at DT which Jeff Fisher says he performed admirably for someone that has never played the position. One of the other two (I think the Jets) were tying to fit him at OLB even though I think he did OK for them at DE. My only point is that he was a 1st rounder for a reason, hasn't had any major injuries that I know of and we have one of the best teaching DC's in the league. I would not at all be opposed to bringing him in and seeing what he has. Does he have any off the field issues that I don't know about? I think the dude is clean.
Surely there must be something that has sent him through 3 teams since 2012. Maybe it IS that he is just not as good as people thought.
I think Coples = Vernon Gholston v2.0.
My theory is that by the time a position player has reached the end of his third year playing in the NFL (injury years excluded) he's all that he ever will be. Coples seem to reach his peak in his third year with the Jets and it's been downhill ever since. He's never lived up to his draft status.

Probably right. Teams don't just jettison 1st round picks unless they know they can't do anything more with them.
