Im amazed that he's not mentioning C Patrick Lewis
We've already talked about Knighton in another thread. IMO I would rather see us work with Terry Williams rather than Knighton. Knighton is at the end of his career and if he were a solid NT, why has he been kicked around the league like he has?

oh yes, and very much so. we dont need no signs for our DL, thats a young, potent bunch
Kind of weird how they "scoured the waiver wire and picked out a few names that could have a nice fit with the Bears" and then immediately link to an article about how Geoff Schwartz isn't really a good fit at all. lol So, he's out.
Out of the two TE's I guess I wouldn't mind a look at Lynch. He seems to have the tools, just needs some work. Stoneburner would just give us another injury prone TE. No thanks.
I'm pretty happy with our DL as is so that rules out Knighton, Werner and Coples.
Hackett doesn't really seem to add much to what we already have at safety.
I think the two centers, Sullivan and Friend, are the most intriguing to me. I'd probably lean toward Sullivan since he's at least a vet with some decent experience, especially in the zone blocking scheme. If Friend is a Grasu clone then I'd just assume wait for Grasu to come back next year and have the NFL ready Sullivan play now.

I really don't like most of the WCG authors. With the exception of Lester Witfong and Sam Householder. I know Sam co-authored this article but when I read it it seems that they pulled a list of the least bad on the waiver wire. Or the nearest fits. I did not get the feeling that they were touting any of these guys as a steal.
I agree on Sullivan. But he was on IR all last year after two back surgeries. After a couple of those, any OL prospect is suspect in my book. If he is healthy and can contribute for one season at a friendly price tag, he'd be on my short list for the Bears.
I'm surprised that Minny cut Sullivan, although I don't follow them closely. He would be a good depth pickup IMO.
Do you envision Edison starting, then?
If Sullivan were to sign in Chicago, I could see Edison starting until Sullivan had the calls/OFF down. I don't think Long will be ready to start the season (this is based on silience about the injury coming from Halas Hall which is a very slender reed to be building on) so Larson plays RG and Edison starts.
Massie-Larson-Edison-Whitehair-Leno then Massie-Long-Sullivan-Whitehair-Leno would be my guess.
Like many above, I would not be opposed to bringing Sullivan in given our current circumstances along the O-Line. However, I've got to ask anyone that can answer, what is the deal with Coples? I know, Jets, then what, Miami, then the Rams. Well, I think the Rams are doing OK at DE and they were trying him at DT which Jeff Fisher says he performed admirably for someone that has never played the position. One of the other two (I think the Jets) were tying to fit him at OLB even though I think he did OK for them at DE. My only point is that he was a 1st rounder for a reason, hasn't had any major injuries that I know of and we have one of the best teaching DC's in the league. I would not at all be opposed to bringing him in and seeing what he has. Does he have any off the field issues that I don't know about? I think the dude is clean.
Surely there must be something that has sent him through 3 teams since 2012. Maybe it IS that he is just not as good as people thought.
