If the team wasnt still paying trestman i thimk he is already fired. But they arent going to comtinue to pay for a hc to sit at home while they pay another to actually work

I think it would be more like paying one to get the hell out of the way and stop mucking things up, while you pay another to fix the shit u. Although we usually find another that breaks new shit.
Despite the importance of all that other stuff (team playing hard, locker room good etc) and taking into account all the injuries, IMO there wasn't enough progression to override the number of wins. Ultimately, its going to be wins that decides Fox's fate. Nothing else really matters.
I think Fox has to get to 8 wins this season. I see Pace spending more in FA that last season to shore up the DEF and I think the Bears take a QB in the draft on day 2 to be the starter. Fox is going to get the benefit of a healthy team, with an improved DEF and a QB. 8 wins is the minimum for him to keep his job. '

Day 2 to be the starter? This won't result in 8 Ws when you are projecting the new season.
If that's the way, you go with the guy you want and if Pace wants a QB he has to make sure to get him - even if it means to trade up

I agree that is how it will go.
Because he did so poorly, a third season that he would have been expected to win 10 or 11 will turn into a season he has to win 8, and with Paces personnel additions, he will do that and get an extension.
And we will be debating Foxy again when he gets us into the post season with continued personnel additions but can't figure out how to win the big one. Because he simply is not the super turn around big time coach some people think he is.
And because he gets us into post season he will be "better than Lovie" and we will live with him for a long time not believing we can get rid of him but we will be dealing with a "Lovie 2.0" coaching experience.
That is how I see it. And I hope he stuffs it down my throat and proves me wrong, but so far I don;t see it.

I know that, and if Pace wants until round 3 to pick his QB I'll be disappointed. If he can get his guy in round two I think he will. I just don't think Pace will be able to pull the trigger on a QB at #3 if one of the DEF players is still there.

I don't think it will end up like this. Fox will get older and with Trestmans salary gone, I don't see Pace waiting forever. Lovie made it to the SB, that's something Fox hasn't done with us. He's not that winner for us, he is the Coach with 9 Ws in 2 years when we all want that number in 1 season

1 DEF blue chipper will be available for us with Garrett, Allen and Hooker all entering the Draft and 2 Teams that Need a QB at #1 & #2
I'm going to need to see some significant improvement. I need to see 7 or more wins along with some very strong performances. I need to see some games where they show they can put up some points. I want to see them beat bad teams by 21 or more. I want to see the defense take over games and be the difference maker in close games. I want to see them be able to run a 2 minute offense successfully when it counts. I want to see a dominant special teams group.
If they squeak by in 7 games and looked bad doing it I'm not sure that's enough for me. I need to see major improvement other than just wins.

It's a gift. A real gift the Bears have. I think they just crapped when Lovie had 10 wins. Way too many wins. They got Trestman to get that down to 5 wins (very impressive), and now they have Fox getting that number down to a nice, manageable 3-wins.
I think the Halas Hall brain trust can find a coach who can swing for the fences and get that number down to zero-wins. I mean an honest to goodness 0-16 coach. It's definitely possible.
