I keep thinking there are over 250 division 1 teams (FBS & FCS) and over 18,000 scholarship athletes playing football each year. The very "best of the best" will be drafted this year - and we get the #3 pick. And the #3 pick in every round in the draft.
That seems pretty cool to me. Major cool. I do get pretty pumped about that. Pace will get us some studs this year. But his draft chart may not be what we assume it to be. There could be a surprise there.
Agreed. If Pace keeps his batting average up, we're in for a great draft.
I have to point out though that after the first round we alternate 3 and 4 with the Jags. So round 1 we're #3, Round 2 we're #4, Round 3 back to #3 and so on.
Thanks, I wondered about that 3-4 thing in the mock draft simulators.

Browns will take Garrett at #1, SF could trade their pick away in this case to a Team that wants to jump infront of us to get their QB. SF won't take Allen and I don't think they go with Barnett just because of Need. I don't think they take Fournette at #2 and they already invested 2 1sts in their DL in the last 2 drafts.

If he test well, or looks good in the underpants Olympics, Mike Williams could be their man.

Garrett and Williams before we pick leaving us with all the QBs to take our guy or with the best DB, DL and whatever is left. Good Position to be in to trade back

nfl.com does have OLB as a need, and some have Barnnet as 3-4 OLB.

yes, but I don't think he's worth the 2nd Overall if they could go down to the Jets pick and still have a Chance to get a Fournette, WR, Barnett or Saftey while picking up a 2nd rounder or more. Jets would do it to secure to get the QB they want. Both Teams would benefit for sure and Bears would be again that Team that has the next pick instead of the guy that everybody and their mother would want.
Remember last season when there we only 10 good players in the draft and the Bears needed to trade down? Now this year there are only 2 good players in the draft and the Bear need to trade down. How times change.

Well to be fair, the last time they drafted this high was one of the worst drafts at the top in the history of the NFL; the Benson draft. Bust after Bust in the top 5...shit almost the entire top 10 was tragic. Look outside the top 10 though....Ware, Merriman, Derrick Johnson, Aaron Rogers, Roddy White. Sometimes the back have of the 1st round is better. Just goes to show you the professional scouts and GM's and coaches can be bad and get it wrong sometimes to.
Bears might have lucked into being garbage when the draft was garbage again.
