Given the amount of work the offense seems to need I'd say play them the whole game.
However..........that is neither practical or safe so let Hoyer and Fales and the second and third bananas see if they're able to figure out some way to move the ball and score some points. This is Cleveland after all.
I don't give a rats ass about Hoyer or Fales. We can find a Fales type QB anywhere and teams are cutting crappy vet QBs right after they hopelessly try to find a trade.
Well we should give a rat's ass because right now they know the offense better than the others who may become available. Picking up a QB is a little different than adding an OL or a spare LB if you expect the guy to run your offense if Cutler goes down.
I have no love for Fales either because I think he's a poor fit for our offense but they've kept him around for a reason and even protected him twice from being signed off the PS. Unless they find something better on the street there's at least a 50/50 chance or better those are the two guy we'll be riding with this year.
I wouldn't play any starter at all. Only the players working for a position on the team should be playing. I don't care how bad the starters look I would not risk any injuries at this point.
I have a tendency to agree despite Cleveland's plans to use their starters. This is the last chance the coaching staff has to get a read on those guy who are "on the bubble" and for some of the guys who are part of a rotation to get some snaps in before the season begins.
But the key core starters I would not use. By now the majority of the starting spots have been decided and where that's already been decided there isn't much sense in risking an injury in one last preseason game.
My first knee jerk (no pun intended after the Teddy B discussion) reaction is sit them all, but I wonder if that is really the prudent thing. As I've mentioned in other posts, I really don't give too much credence to the Pre-Season and I really think it is a function of getting guys on tape and seeing certain things in certain situations so the coaches know which way to go. Obviously this is the last opportunity for guys to get a chance to show what they have before cuts, so that is a relevant consideration for this, the 4th and last PS game; but I think it really comes down to the question marks the coaches have for certain "sets" on both the Offense and Defense before the season starts. My guess is they are going into this game with the OC and DC wanting to get one more look at one or two more things to see if "corrections" have been made that they have worked on since the last debacle. Then get the reserves in as soon as possible and let them have a chance to prove themselves. I'm sure many of the cuts have already been decided, but I'll bet those last 8-12 are pretty tough calls.
It's only rational to be concerned about more injuries given what we have already experienced, but that really is no way to play football.
The Teddy Bridgewater thing is just sad. I know it's a Division rival, but we all know that he may never be the same given his now limited mobility. I don't care what color a guys laundry is, I never want to see a young kid like that with so much promise suffer such a severe injury. The same can be said for Shaw, getting a second chance here in Chicago and doing well only to have that happen. It just sucks.
I didn't realize that TeddyB's injury was that severe. Man that sucks! You never want to see a player get hurt like that.
On the Score today they said the people that examined him, and got him to the Hospital and operated on basically saved his leg and NFL career
Well it was Gabe Carimi who dislocated his knee cap and we can see what's that's done to his NFL career. Bridgewater needs far more mobility than the average OT will need so this is not good news. I hope he's able to recover from it. He was one of the better QBs drafted recently.

I just hope for Bridgewater's sake that the Vikes were very aggressive about getting him treated and that the state of the medical arts have advanced over the last 5 years.

I agree, and he was having a strong pre season. I saw some of the Minny/phi? game this weekend and he made a few really good throws. He wasn't great the last few years but he was good enough, w/the arrow pointing up. I felt sick for him, and bad for some friends of mine who are huge Minny fans that finally felt like their team was ready to do something.
I never want to see a guy get injured. Not permanently. However, a divisional QB, I can go for a non career threatening injury that keeps him out for the year. Feel bad for him sincerely, but as long as he is going to be ok, well we can use all the help we can get.
I'll be honest I'll be very surprised if he ever comes back and is the same player he was. Not sure how you have your leg and nfl career almost ended and not feel very uncomfortable the rest of your life.

Unfortunately, that is probably true, but I hope that's not the case.
