Question is should we? O needs to geel a lot more, but you dont wanna risk having them injuried at the last PS game, and you want them fresh for the RS. That being said injuries happens all the time.. just look at poor Teddy.. I feel bad for Vikings, finally they see some light and all of the sudden the clouds turns all dark.
Yeah. That's some bad ju ju for Minny. I just hope we can protect Cutler well enough that he isn't injured. We lose him and we really will have a shot at a QB in the top ten picks next year.
Given the amount of work the offense seems to need I'd say play them the whole game.
However..........that is neither practical or safe so let Hoyer and Fales and the second and third bananas see if they're able to figure out some way to move the ball and score some points. This is Cleveland after all.
I don't give a rats ass about Hoyer or Fales. We can find a Fales type QB anywhere and teams are cutting crappy vet QBs right after they hopelessly try to find a trade.
"The injury announcement came about two hours after an emotional scene unfolded at Vikings practice when Bridgewater went down with a non-contact injury that ended the session after just 30 minutes. Zimmer said the 23-year-old had to be sedated before undergoing an MRI at the hospital."
Non-contact injury. Devastating injury, but it was non-contact and at a practice. We get down on our own players as being "fragile" when they get these knee injuries... but it's not that they are fragile. It's just the result of putting tremendous stress on their bodies. It's just a tough sport. Injuries are a big part of it.
I wouldn't play any starter at all. Only the players working for a position on the team should be playing. I don't care how bad the starters look I would not risk any injuries at this point.
My first knee jerk (no pun intended after the Teddy B discussion) reaction is sit them all, but I wonder if that is really the prudent thing. As I've mentioned in other posts, I really don't give too much credence to the Pre-Season and I really think it is a function of getting guys on tape and seeing certain things in certain situations so the coaches know which way to go. Obviously this is the last opportunity for guys to get a chance to show what they have before cuts, so that is a relevant consideration for this, the 4th and last PS game; but I think it really comes down to the question marks the coaches have for certain "sets" on both the Offense and Defense before the season starts. My guess is they are going into this game with the OC and DC wanting to get one more look at one or two more things to see if "corrections" have been made that they have worked on since the last debacle. Then get the reserves in as soon as possible and let them have a chance to prove themselves. I'm sure many of the cuts have already been decided, but I'll bet those last 8-12 are pretty tough calls.
It's only rational to be concerned about more injuries given what we have already experienced, but that really is no way to play football.
The Teddy Bridgewater thing is just sad. I know it's a Division rival, but we all know that he may never be the same given his now limited mobility. I don't care what color a guys laundry is, I never want to see a young kid like that with so much promise suffer such a severe injury. The same can be said for Shaw, getting a second chance here in Chicago and doing well only to have that happen. It just sucks.
After what happened to Minny these would be the guys who don't play:
OFF: Starters + 3 WR + anyone in the RBbC DEF: any DL who have made the team, starting LBs + Floyd, starting secondary + nickle back + the rookie safties and CBs.
I'm seriously spooked after Teddy Bridgewater basically tore his knee from his body.
I didn't realize that TeddyB's injury was that severe. Man that sucks! You never want to see a player get hurt like that.
On the Score today they said the people that examined him, and got him to the Hospital and operated on basically saved his leg and NFL career
