Tonight I was looking at the 8 playoff teams who will be playing in the Divisional Round this year and thinking about the Bears situation as a team. Houston probably has the weakest QB in this group. The rest have some solid guys at QB. Dallas has the rookie, Dak the 4th rounder, but even he looks pretty solid at QB.
Here's where these teams ranked in scoring offense for the regular season. Bears were 28th in the NFL (LINK). Here's where these teams ranked on defense (points allowed) for the regular season. Bears were 24th in the NFL (LINK).
These teams were powerful scoring points, and also in denying opponents points. We are ranked 28th and 24th in those two categories.
It is pretty sobering to consider how much difference there is between where we are now, and what is required just to be a solid playoff team.
Ya and what do those teams have in common? Top tier QB's, and outside of Seattle they've had them for awhile allowing them to put all their resources into other parts of the team. Meanwhile the Bears have flailed away thinking Cutler was a top tier qb and were incapable of putting pieces around him.
Of the other teams in the draft, only Houston and KC seem to have any real need at QB, and maybe Brock is coming out of it a bit after getting benched.

Most of them (except HOU & KC) not only have a great a QB but also a pretty strong defense.
One thing I thought about this morning is that we played Aaron Rodgers pretty well in that 2nd game, and came pretty close in that game. I get it that close isn't winning. But even during Rodgers hot streak we didn't get blown out by any means. I'd sure like to see what our team looks like this coming season with starters playing, and the new talent from this 3rd Pace draft and free agency.
And it sure would be good to have a more normal injury season.
Maybe we could see a pretty good improvement this year.

Can't believe Bears lost that game, GB didn't win it, Bears gave it away and ended up helping GB win division too. SAD !!!
Bunch of boring games this weekend. Tired of the perennial powerhouses: New England Green Bay Pittsburgh Seattle
I'll be rooting for Atlanta, Houston, Dallas and KC this coming weekend. I never thought the day would come when I would be rooting for Dallas.
I think that is #1 reason why ratings in the NFL has been dropping.. It is either New England, Seattle, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, or NY Giants.. Me I'm rooting for Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and KC..
