Not gonna create another thread but it seems Fox is backtracking on his notion he is coming back. Now he is not sure. That means his status is "Day to Day".
Well, Fox said he wanted to finish the job, and he has the three games he won this year. I suppose if he can wipe those three wins away next year, he will consider it completed.
If he is retained give Fox everything he wants for next season. If the team is still bad fire him with a clear conscious as all the decisions were on him. If the season goes well it was primarily because of his choices and we can keep him with a good degree of confidence going forward. Fox isn't some young coach who might not know how to handle certain organizational things like whether to fire certain coaches or not. He's a veteran and should know where the blame lies. So let him do whatever he thinks is best.
As the expression goes, give him all the rope he needs to hang himself. The rest will take care of itself.
I think we've done a lot of that already payton and it's turned out poorly so I can't agree with you here. We've already given him enough rope and he's put it around his neck. The problem is Teddy Bears and the McCaskeys won't pull the lever to the trap door under him and finish the job.
If Pace wants to keep his job then he needs to start giving the orders and Fox needs to follow them because his way hasn't even come close to working. We talk about having a "care taker" vet QB for a year while we draft and develop a younger guy but as it stands it looks as if Fox could be more or less that same deal as a HC while we begin a search for someone to replace hm a year from now.
There are gonna be quite a few HC openings again this year and a lot of competition for the best prospects to fill them. That may be another reason for kicking the can down the road for another year although if it was me I would still have offered the HC gig to Fangio and if he accepted I'd boot Fox.

Wheeeee.....we're shooting for 0-16 and the #1 overall pick where we will surely get the next Payton Manning in the 2018 draft. It's a lock!

He's done wonders for the franchise. Yes. Wonders. You wonder why we ever hired him.

Why give Fox what he wants instead of adding the best Players posible? How should we expect more if we start Cutler/Hoyer/Barkley/rookie/Glennon/Garoppolo next year? I heard this won't be good enough for more than 3 Ws.
Fox is not here to build that Team, Fox was here to bring us back to a Level our Franchise is repectable. We are a joke and part of the blame has to go to the guy that is Coaching the Team. I want us to invest into our next starting QB and I don't want Fox to get his Hands on this guy.
