That part in red I agree with. Will they be honest and own what is wrong, and offer a way to get the team on track? Is there a plan? Is there even a plan to get a plan?
Or will they just piss on us and try to tell us it's rain?
The franchise is an entertainment product that the business owners sell to fans. Ultimately, the money that fuels this business can all be traced back to fans - even the fat TV contracts. The merchandise sales. And of course the profits directly related to the games (tix and concessions etc). It has taken that $100 investment by Papa Bear George Halas, and turned it into a $2.7-billion dollar cash cow for the entire McCaskey family.
This "entertainment" business has failed the fans for years now. I think a bit of honesty would go a long ways to helping us fans stay fans. And for the zillionth time, I'm not talking about the 2016 season in a vacuum. This is a multi-year failure by the franchise. Year after year we are seeing a poor product on the field.
I really really really don't want to hear more bullshit on Wednesday. No more coach-speak or Gm-speak. Own the problem and tell us the "plan" for this franchise. It is a franchise that just floats in the toilet bowl of the NFL and stinks each year. Don't tell us you're just gonna spray some more air freshener and call it all "good" again.
Unfortunately that just what I think we're gonna hear. It'll be the old "stick with us we're nearly there" so like I said it's gonna be another "Emperors New Clothes" speech where we're not supposed to notice they're as naked as they are.......typical McCaskey owned Bears deal. Just don't say anything that reflects poorly on them.
+1 LOL, we're "nearly there" now? Just where is "there" for this franchise? 0-16? LOL, I'm not sure I want to go there :-)
Unlike the 2015 offseason we got players last offseason.
Floyd, Whitehair, and Howard in the draft.
Freeman and Hicks
Only reason he gets a B instead of an A is the fact he didn't draft a single QB once again...
I give him a "D".
He's had some good draft picks and FA pickups but hasn't got the ship off the Angelo/Emery rocks yet after 2 seasons. I like Pace and still have confidence in him but the proof is in the pudding. The team is still a train wreck.

Its going to take years to fix this team. What we had in 2016 really was our first year in rebuild if you think about things.
We had 3 great drafted players to look forward to. A few great FA signings that have a future on this team.
Now if Pace can hit another great offseason like 2016 our future will look much brighter...
Toeing the company/family line and not putting Fox & Co. in their places.
How can he improve? Stand on his own 2 feet and buck the family. It's his team, the McCaskeys are worried about money and appearances. Fire Fox and/or Logjam, keep Fangio, get a good HC and/or a good OC in here, another good FA/draft or two, work on the secondary, a little more help on the O-line, and a QB. A real honest to goodness QB for the starter position.
He sure has his work cut out for him, doesn't he? ...

In this era you don't get "years"to fix a team. Not since FA began to fill roster spots while you drafted well has that been the case. Pace has a 5 year deal but that doesn't mean he gets to use all 5 years just on rebuilding.
Also 2016 was NOT our first year doing it. 2015 was and 2017 will be his 3rd offseason of FA and the draft. You can't throw out 2015 like it was some kind of "mulligan". These guys are getting paid millions so we don't allow "do overs".
Fox has a 4 year deal and anytime a coach or even a player is in the 3rd year of their contract they begin to talk extension. Fox is going into his 3d year with the worst 16 game season ever and the 2nd worst W/L record looking only to survive year three when he shouldn't even be getting it to begin with.
This is a very good example of how the Bears are run......very poorly IMHO.

Definitely sounds like Teddy will be renewing him then.

Floyd has played like you want your 1st round pick to Play, Whitehair and Howard played at a Pro Bowl Level. Kwiatkowski showed promise. That's 4 Hits for year 1 out of his draft. Our best D has been Freeman and he was a Pace signing. Hicks was a good signing too. Adding LeBlanc was a good move, but we still have some holes and questionable moves made me give him a C. He should have drafted a QB within the first 4 rounds, but didn't.
I wonder how much impact having his own scouts in place for last years draft made. Remember he didn't change much of the scouting staff after he got hired before his first draft...or am I off on that?
