I think the OL was ranked between 20-25 when the season started. The idea was they would improve, but....32,675 OL injuries later....that plan is shot to pieces.
I had to think a minute because I had forgotten he was still on the team. I'm serious, not joking. How sad is that for a $30-million dollar signing on our offensive line? No wonder the OL is so bad. Poles needs to show he has a clue when it comes to judging offensive line talent. People keep parroting about how Poles "played the position" - but he didn't at the NFL level. He was a brief "camp body" one summer and was gone. That doesn't mean he knows diddly-squat about drafting or signing good solid offensive linemen. He made the statement at the beginning of this season that this was his best offensive line... like it was the "Crowning Achievement" of his career or something.
How sad is that? But good to know that Nate was still on our roster but now is gone... thanks for the update
Well...to be fair, he said it was the deepest, not the best. You could argue that was true because you had multiple backups who have started games in the league...but that depth has certainly been tested the past few weeks. Health has been a major issue.
For their next trick, the Bears offense will be fielding 11 clowns on unicycles juggling bowling pins.
Cue up the circus music
Poles boasted we were gonna take the North and never give it back. I can't wait to see the Bears begin doing that against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday because I think the unicycles are what's missing... and the juggling bowling pins will be a nice touch. I'll bet the Packers are terrified for Sunday to happen...

Those unicycles are on a tightrope, right?
They're actually on the ground. They just laid the rope down and the ground and asked" Think you can follow that?"
They didn't trust them to be up in the air. When it rains unicycles, people get hurt.

Of course... in fact at today's practice 'Flus had Center Doug Kramer working on his goal line RB play. Flus was down below cackling like a madman shouting "Look Inward" - and that is how we are going to beat Green Bay on Sunday. Look inward boys...

Reading more stuff today:
DJ Moore saying players complained about not making in-game adjustments to play calls fast enough
Flus didn't want to fire Waldron. He was forced to. He wanted to keep SW on in some perfunctory capacity to keep the heat off himself.
I'm about done defending Ryan Poles, despite the goodwill he earned by pulling off the Carolina heist. The moment Flus first balked at firing Waldron, he should have been canned just for horrifically bad judgement alone. In fact, Flus should have been canned the Monday evening after the Washington game when he dodged responsibility and pissed off the locker room. Had that been done, maybe just maybe you wouldn't have lost the next two winnable games too.
Both Poles and Warren have been disgracefully incognito during this entire meltdown. Complete dereliction of duty.

Maybe they should have Kmet practice for the C position. He's a long snapper so it's a good fit.

I wonder if Cunningham is a factor at all in helping Poles at all in these things? I would hope that he'd be a reality check for Poles. I say that because Cunningham seems like a football-smart guy. But then again, Poles needs to listen for input to be effective. I was remembering how Cunningham had to talk Poles out of shooting himself in the foot in the last draft (trading up in the first round).
