One of, if not the biggest Poles mistake has been cut. What a failure that was. 30 mil for 3y, and he played 13 games (badly). Big mistake.
This are the kind of things that grab managements attention. The constant outflows of cash for mistakes. The OC. a few of these players that they have to eat. The potential for a new HC. If I were the owners, I would eat these to right the ship, but would have a serious discussion with Poles about how this can't go on and that the next picks better succeed.

I'm more sad then mad. We should want and hope for every player transaction to work out, all the way up to the end. He didn't. Wasted 2 years. Don't really care about the money. Its not like they were going to spend that money on a HC. That was money that could have gone toward another player.
I had to think a minute because I had forgotten he was still on the team. I'm serious, not joking. How sad is that for a $30-million dollar signing on our offensive line? No wonder the OL is so bad. Poles needs to show he has a clue when it comes to judging offensive line talent. People keep parroting about how Poles "played the position" - but he didn't at the NFL level. He was a brief "camp body" one summer and was gone. That doesn't mean he knows diddly-squat about drafting or signing good solid offensive linemen. He made the statement at the beginning of this season that this was his best offensive line... like it was the "Crowning Achievement" of his career or something.
How sad is that? But good to know that Nate was still on our roster but now is gone... thanks for the update

At the time, on paper, he may have been correct. But the O-Line has been bad for a while, so "best" is a relative term here. Yes, it may be his best line, but it still wasn't good by NFL standards. I think he knows that, and I think he will address it. The problem is it is difficult to get quality linemen, the ones that hit FA are either no good, old and washed out, or injured. That's why it's so critical to hit on the draft picks. unfortunately, Pace left him with very few picks to start with. I trust this offseason is where he goes all out on that line. Otherwise....

+1 This will be his 4th season next year. In four years a good GM should be able to build a better offensive line for Caleb Williams.
