That's hard to watch to be honest. There are so many things not right with the offense now. It is especially bad for a rookie quarterback. You can see why he is regressing. It's not just the offensive line, although yes it is really bad too. The offense is top to bottom bad. Defenses can easily pressure the QB and know the deep pass isn't available for Caleb (no time to develop those plays). So they can load up to stop the short-to-medium passes. The Bears need a good OC to rebuild the entire offense with better schemes, game prep, play calling - and have better blocking. They desperately need a run-game threat too (better run blocking and frankly a better RB1 than Swift). LOL, that's pretty much everything though, isn't it? No way that can all be fixed mid-season. I feel bad for the players and in particular for Caleb. I told my wife this evening that if I were Caleb Williams, I'd quietly, behind the scenes, tell the Bears if they're not getting a solid coaching staff in place for 2025, then he wants a trade - no 2025 season in a Bears uniform. The guy is financially wealthy and can afford to sit out until the Bears do that.

I'm starting to sour on Poles returning next year, but not in a big way yet. The following things have happened on his watch recently and are really eroding his credibility:
1. As has been bandied about constantly, he had a golden opportunity to move on from Flus & chose not to. Huge mistake now coming back to haunt him. 2. In free agency, he could have signed at a minimum of 1 good center (yes by outbidding the competition but there were & are no internal answers) and a decent guard for at least depth. Never mind the Davis signing. 3. At this year's trade deadline he refused to trade for a quality caliber IOL and kept Davis when everybody knew he had played his last snap. 4. He has gone totally MIA during this Flus crisis.

That’s silly. Of course he’s not MIA. Him and Flus are in the same cave that Rogers went. They are meditating and looking inwards. They’ve got this. They are looking at everything. Flus promised

I agree Poles stock has taken a big hit lately.
1) Agree completely -- terrible, awful decision to stick with Flus and inevitably people are gonna question whether his friendship with Flus influenced his decision.
2) Again, agree completely. I was shocked on opening day of FA last March when he didn't sign the best C he could get. That was a total no-brainer. No idea what he was thinking there. I don't blame him for his 1st round picks (liked them both) but his refusal to bolster the OL in FA when he had plenty of $$$ is baffling
3) I'll give him a pass on this one. OLs typically don't get traded mid-season as there aren't enough good ones to begin with and its hard to plug-and-play them. If not for all the injuries I think they would have just cut or IR'd Davis who will go down as one of the Bears worst FA signings ever.
4) You are correct again, sir. A take-charge GM would have canned Flus & Waldron first thing Monday morning.
