If coaches are looking somewhere, try looking in the mirror.
Maybe they can look in the mirror and inward at the same time. Maybe using a mirror, Flus can give himself a procto exam. Maybe he can pull something out of his ass and win a game.
I've said before his problem with looking inward was his hemorrhoids get in the way. What he should be pulling out of his ass is his head.

I continue to focus on Williams. Not because I think this loss was on him (although he definitely did not help), but because I want him to succeed and so watch him closely hoping for signs of improvement.
He is out there trying but it almost looks like he knows they are not going to win any more. I did not see that earlier in the season. And of course I am not in his head so I might be projecting there. I can't tell any more if he can read the field or not because he has so little time and I can't tell. One thing I thought he would have gotten better at though is getting rid of the ball when under duress. He takes more sacks than he needs to. Of course the fact that so many times the defenders are on him untouched doesn't help, but he needs to realize when he can make something happen and when he can't. I get that he is used to winning and he thinks he can always make something happen. A good QB is supposed to think that way. But a smart QB tempers those instincts and throws it away instead of getting sacked. I think literally about half those sacks he could have avoided.
He still misses open targets. The announcers were talking about it being anticipation and timing issues. I have never played pro ball and so I have to defer to them. But this far into the season, how are they not in better synch? Other first year QBs seem to have that timing down better. He has gotten three absolutely proven stud targets and Odunze is not far behind. So I have to think it is either on CW just not able to get the timing right or whatever drills they are doing to get it right just are not working. One thing though, he does not make those "what were you thinking" throws JF did. He is good on INTs. I can think of only one bad pass he made (I mean the kind he should not have thrown, not the many he just plain missed). I like how he is there. That shows good judgement there.
And the WRs (and TE) simply are not getting open. Any other players, I would blame it on them, but not these guys. They are proven they can get open. So on this I am confident it is the OC. However, I still think the HC is also worthless. Defense is starting to also suck. This team is in trouble and looking inward doesn't help. All it tells them is that they can't fix it. They need people that can. And they need people above them that are not afraid to make hard decisions to fix it.
Poles, Flus, and Waldron. This is Trestman era bad.
That exact thought crossed my mind. But in a very real way it is worse than Trestman due to the fact we are watching a great quarterback, probably the best in 85 years here - get ruined before our very eyes. That is far worse than anything Trestman did here. Think about it. When would we ever have a QB as good as Caleb Williams drafted here? Last great one was in the 1939 draft of Sid Luckman, and yes that was 85 drafts ago.
And we are not seeing McCaskey, Keven Warren & Ryan Poles do anything to stop this. Nothing. Crickets...
This team is in trouble and looking inward doesn't help. All it tells them is that they can't fix it. They need people that can. And they need people above them that are not afraid to make hard decisions to fix it.
That is the bottom line as I see it. We will see if Poles and Warren are any good. This is the defining moment for both of them.

Not pretty but unfortunately pretty dead on.
"Eberflus's time management will again be under scrutiny after a quick three-and-out by the Bears' offense. New England got the ball back with 35 seconds remaining (insert ominous music), and for the third time in three weeks, Chicago's defense allowed a team to score to end a half. The Patriots quickly got into field-goal range and converted to end the half with a 13-3 lead."
Grizz, I understand the frustration. I really do. Hell.... I share it. But I still support the Rome pick. What he failed to do is get a real coach. This team has talent. Even without a good OL, we should be able to move the ball better than we are with this talent.
Williams is not totally innocent, either. Bad OL and bad coaching are messing him up for sure. But he’s also holding the ball and missing throws that should be easy completions.
1. Matt Eberflus has a mess on his hands. 2. It was late in the 2004 season and I was walking through the hallway at Halas Hall toward the locker room when an offensive assistant signaled to me. (Compares this OFF with the Terry Shea OFF from 2004, Lovie's first season. It was bad...Quinn, Kenzel, Grossman...) 3. The Bears’ issues on offense begin on the offensive line and they were in a tough spot Sunday, being so short-handed without the tackles. 4. With nose tackle Andrew Billings out for the remainder of the season following surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle, the run defense should become a key focus. 5. There is so much wrong with the Bears offense right now that it can be overwhelming trying to figure out where to start. 6. Jaquan Brisker missed his fourth consecutive game and has been out five weeks with a concussion, which is concerning for all involved. 7. Finally, the Bears will dive into action against NFC North opponents with the Green Bay Packers coming to Soldier Field next Sunday. 8. The Bears have gone to lengths to support Nate Davis in the season-and-a-half after signing him to a $30 million, three-year contract in free agency. 9. Kudos to third-year safety Elijah Hicks for doing a solid job filling in for Jaquan Brisker. 10. Carolina walked off the New York Giants on an Eddy Pineiro field goal Sunday morning in Germany, lifting the Panthers to 3-7 as they’ve now won consecutive games. 10a. Weak-side linebacker T.J. Edwards had a game-high 13 tackles (seven solos) with an interception. In 26 games with the Bears, Edwards has four interceptions, nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. That’s impressive ball production for an off-the-ball linebacker. 10b. Look for more playing time moving forward for defensive end Jacob Martin, who had his second sack of the season. 10c. It looked like Montez Sweat’s shin injury which kept him out of the Arizona game last week flared up Sunday. 10d. The No. 1 Fox crew of Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady and Erin Andrews will call the Packers-Bears game from Soldier Field next Sunday. 10e. The Packers, who are coming off a bye, opened as a 6 1/2-point favorite over the Bears at Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas. The Bears have lost 10 consecutive games to Green Bay.

I read this article and the part I want to stress is the Kreutz audio. JABF, if you are able to just isolate that audio, it would be good. The article is also decent, but the Kreutz comments are what is important. And I want to stress that IMO, this present coaching staff has no clue whatsoever as to how to fix it.
