Agree on ownership "taking the easy way out" with HCs. These guys always hire the most milquetoast candidate who won't rock the boat and prioritize that over actual skill and accomplishment.
Gonna have to disagree on Mitch and Justin though--both are simply not good NFL QBs and never will be. Both have gone to other (better) organizations and both have clearly shown they aren't franchise starters.
If we keep "developing" CW the way we are and he never succeeds, people will be saying the same about him
We rationalize it all by saying these guys were not good QBs to begin with. We have had over 40 different starting quarterbacks here "not good enough to begin with" - LOL. Right. As fans we are dysfunctional ourselves when we believe that stuff. Delusional thinking. But yes. We will be doing the same thing if/when Caleb bites the dust here at QB. The Bears could draft another 100 first round picks, but until they provide the coaching and offensive line to develop 1 of those guys, it ain't happening here. But Eberflus has assured us that all we need to do is "Look Inward" and it will all be good. Look inward boys...

I think Flus' problem is when he looks inward, all he sees are his hemorrhoids.
I do not believe in voodoo curses or superstitions like that.
I think that the reality is that we have ownership that is good at building a business but not good at all with football ownership where they take the easy way and comfortable way out with HCs but they do get good players for the fans to watch.
With Mitch and Justin, there was a lot going on there. Either one could have been a good NFL QB had a smart organization drafted them. There is probably a multiverse out there where we draft Mahomes, he’s busts, the Chiefs take Mitch and he has 3 SBs.
It’s so much more than a rookie / young QB being bad. These guys were good in college. They’re capable athletes, but idiots sinks their claws into them and ruin them.

I think that teams make a mistake when drafting rookie QBs where they throw them into the fire on Day 1, provide a minimal supporting cast, and there's usually coaching issues (poor coaching, constant turnover) as well.
QB isn't a Plug & Play thing where you can take a rookie and by virtue of drafting a guy say that the problem is solved. You have to build around them and coach them up.
Mitch couldn't hit a deep ball to save his life and he had a hard time getting past the first read. It's no secret to me that Mitch looked like our QB of the future when Fangio's defense carried the 2018 team by giving Mitch shorter fields and protecting leads. Mitch had Fox and Loggains his first year in the league. That's not good.
Justin could hit the deep ball all day long, but he was first read and then run all the time. They never built around Justin at all. He didn't get DJ Moore until his last year with us. Otherwise the OL was a disaster and the defense was horrible.
So yes, Mitch and Justin weren't Dan Marino by any stretch but there were other factors in why they failed besides just their QBing skills.
A historical case is Aaron Rodgers. The guy is one of the greatest QBs of all time, but he only has won one Super Bowl. Green Bay never built around him. In the first round of the draft, in between the time the Packers drafted Rodgers and then when they drafted Love, they never once drafted one single offensive skill player (RB, WR).
You have to build around QBs because in the history of the league, out of the 1000s of QBs that ever were, how many QBs, especially at the rookie level, could you realistically Plug & Play or even later on in their careers expect to carry a team on their own?
