We are hearing more people come out now saying Caleb Williams cannot overcome the Bears' systemic dysfunction. He will go the way of Trubisky and Fields. Not due to lack of talent, but due to the organizational dysfunction here. This is just one of the videos I grabbed for this. But there are others saying the same thing. Canty here takes this dysfunction back to Rex Grossman. He is not wrong on this.

Poor coaching, poor protection by the OL and no run game.

The way I see this is that Poles did try and get things lined up. For the most part.
He thought Flus and Waldron were the answer. He knew he needed a run game and brought in Swift. Now, whether Swift is ineffective because he simply isn't that good, the Ol sucks, or the coaches have no clue how to scheme is for sure up for debate, but he made his effort there.
So his ability to pick talent (which is HUGE for a GM) is also up for debate. Flus was not a good choice. I get that people make mistakes. But his cardinal error was in keeping him last year. I really believe he let his relationship influence his objective evaluation there. HUGE mistake on his part. It was the same scenario as we had at QB. We have a good effective QB in Fields (yeah, I know not everyone agrees), but we have a once in a long time opportunity to upgrade, so you go for it. Same situation as with HC. I personally didn't feel we had a good coach in Flus to begin with (actually, that's not true. I did think Flus would work to begin with. But by last season, I felt he couldn't do it) but Poles felt he had a good coach in Flus. But you had an opportunity to upgrade him with a rare opportunity. You take that. The whole disconnect there was that Poles thought he already had the answer at HC (he needs better evaluation skills as a GM) and either didn't like the other options or felt that there was not enough upside to break the continuity with Flus. I get why he made the decision. But the point was that he didn't see what lot's of fans did, and that's a problem.
As far as picking Swift.... as mentioned, I can't say if he is the problem or everything around him.
The OL.... Poles just plain owns that one. Football 101. A QB and RB aren't going to succeed without a good OL.
I do see changes in CW, and they are not good. I see frustration. I see doubt to be honest. I also see the beginning of the Carr'ing process. And he is going to get hit a WHOLE lot more the second half of this year. I am not sure that some of this is already reversible. And it will be worse before it gets better. Flus is still at the controls, We have a bad OL that is banged up on top of it, and we have some of the toughest defenses to face. Something is still not right in the offense either. CW continues to miss easy targets. You can see the talent is there, but it's not clicking. The near future is not looking good and the question is whether the continued damage this year will be something we can pull out of (can CW rebound back to that confident, cocky self we drafted?) Will he get injured to the point he CAN'T play at his previous potential?
I think he probably will bounce back to some degree under the right coaching, but I don't have a lot of confidence we will get the right coaching. This is where I am hoping the Warren influence will come through, but I have lost some confidence in him also. This year needs to play out and we won't know til the offseason. THE OFFSEASON..... the eternal hope of the Chicago Bears.

That's everything I'm believing at this point ^^^
I was late to see the issues with Eberflus. And it really makes me feel sick that we have the coaching and offensive line woes for yet another rookie QB here. It truly is a cycle of failure for this franchise. The Bears don't deserve a good QB here.

I do not believe in voodoo curses or superstitions like that.
I think that the reality is that we have ownership that is good at building a business but not good at all with football ownership where they take the easy way and comfortable way out with HCs but they do get good players for the fans to watch.
With Mitch and Justin, there was a lot going on there. Either one could have been a good NFL QB had a smart organization drafted them. There is probably a multiverse out there where we draft Mahomes, he’s busts, the Chiefs take Mitch and he has 3 SBs.
It’s so much more than a rookie / young QB being bad. These guys were good in college. They’re capable athletes, but idiots sinks their claws into them and ruin them.

You obviously have not yet met bearsinhouston and his rubber chicken. That chicken is gonna bring us to a super bowl someday. It is our only hope now.
As Bears fans we are staking everything on BIH and the chicken.
That is so much more likely to bring us a super bowl than Warren or Poles. I know that sounds harsh to value a rubber chicken's leadership like that... but BIH thinks he's that good.
Here is BIH in full ceremonial dress... although I've heard from his neighbors that on occasion he's just butt-naked dancing in his front yard with the rubber chicken. He used to be your typical suit-and-tie guy but all these years as a Bears fan has taken a toll on him (I think it's affected all of us to be honest, but I don't dance naked in front of my home yet... Mrs JABF would definitely be pissed if I did that).

I don't do the naked ceremony any more JABF. The last time I did, the rubber chicken tried to take advantage of me. He's an opportunistic little chicken.

Agree on ownership "taking the easy way out" with HCs. These guys always hire the most milquetoast candidate who won't rock the boat and prioritize that over actual skill and accomplishment.
Gonna have to disagree on Mitch and Justin though--both are simply not good NFL QBs and never will be. Both have gone to other (better) organizations and both have clearly shown they aren't franchise starters.

If we keep "developing" CW the way we are and he never succeeds, people will be saying the same about him
