I know this isn't Bears news but it does affect the Bears. Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater sustained a knee injury in practice. Reports make it sound like it's not very good news, possible torn ACL. Vikings were in contention to win the division again this year and were looking good in preseason.
Well at least we aren't the only ones being kicked square in the nuts by key injuries but this also strengthens the Porkers hand and they are no doubt celebrating this news in Cheese Bay.
Oh crap we just picked up a CB who has been faking injuries to no play for Cleveland. So untill he is cleared of his imaginary or real bone spurs we officially have yet another injured CB...
ah... so now I see what 'ol Fox means by a non-legit injury.
Yeppers. It's the old hidden ball play applied to semi serious fake injuries in order to get the guys through waivers you want on your PS. I imagine by now Foxy is an old hand at that.
It is all guess work. The only other surgery he could of had was a meniscus repair. Most players just get it removed or clipped. The recovery is weeks for a removal and months for a repair. Repair heals longer but your knee will last longer. Removal has short recovery but it will slowly go bad over years.
That's another possibility but I thought McPhee has arleady had a knee surgery and if that didn't help long term it may be as you suggest and the meniscus has been removed or it could be micro fracture to allow better circulation so it will heal or both. I admit that I don't really know.
Another reason I think it is the worse of the two is, has anyone heard what was done to his knee? Knee procedure, knee surgery, arthroscopic procedure, clean it up a bit. Nothing but non descript vague reports. If the beat writers did expect all the information spoon feed to them they could look in to it.

Well if they do know more they aren't saying and possibly with good reason. Even if they had some access to his medical records they'd be fools to use it. I just read where JPP is suing ESPN and Ian Rappaport for publishing confidential medical records about his finger injuries.
Check out the separate thread I posted on McPhee's injury. The thinking now is that he underwent micro fracture surgery back in February not just a simple scoping to "clean up some issues". This is a completely different deal with a much longer rehab period and much higher incidence of failure. I linked some info on it in that thread.
yeah, I saw that the conjecture was microfracture surgery, but I was not able to piece together where that came from. Was there something said about a microfracture or is it just guesswork? White just came back from Microfracture, so McPhee wanted one too I guess.
I just speculated. Full disclosure: it's merely a guess.
We don't know what surgery or even injury PM had. All we know is that he reportedly had some knee issues with Baltimore and is now 7-8 months out from another procedure and STILL isn't even practicing. I think it's safe to assume at this point that he had something more extensive (than a routine knee scope/debridement) done and/or there's been some setbacks in his recovery and rehab.
Whats up with all the injuries we are getting. Too bad med eval, or bad strength or just unlucky? McPhee we knew had problems, but they seem worse than expected. I thought he would miss a couple of games here and there, but potential missing 6 weeks? If the FO knew about this prior to the draft, I can see why the traded up to get Flyod.

Tough year everywhere it would seem Zif. We only last or #3 QB. Minny lost Bridgewater for the year with an ACL tear and dislocated knee. Not a good thing either for a mobile QB.

The NFL is getting to be a war of attrition.
I really think they need to increase the roster size and allow everyone to dress on GameDay.
