New Information Arrives In Rumored John Fox and Vic Fangio R

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't get it. That was one poorly written 'article.'

The only think of much worth was the quote from "Moon" Mullin who generally will give as honest a viewpoint as any as far as what he knows, has found out, or when it's simply his own feelings or opinion.

By now no one has any doubts about how Emery messed up that defense with his personnel moves and his hiring of Mel Tucker as his DC.  That was really his call not Trestman's and so was retaining him after the first disaster.

If Fangio will stay I trust him to continue making progress.  He's been hurt far more by injuries than the offense has with the possible exception of losing Cutler for the year.  But that secondary is an inexperienced mess that needs much help.

If Pace decides to retain Fox and most if not all of the current staff then my only suggestion to him to be prepared to spend heavily on some key defensive components to plug some holes.  He can't keep buying from the second shelf on down and expect a coach like Fox to win.  The guy is just not good at getting it done with too many rookies in key positions. 

If he doesn't go out and buy him some top shelf vet help to go along with another top notch draft it's gonna take two more years to dig out of this hole.  But no matter how great a defense they build 17-20 points of offense a game won't even win you 8 games a year against good teams so somebody better figure that out too because Fox hasn't a clue about how to build an offense that scores.
