The Bears offense is averaging 13.33 ppg. The defense scoring does put it higher. JF isn’t a great QB but he seems to be improving in the Steelers system. He looked pretty good leading the team this past week in particular. But nobody here is saying he is great.
The article's title is "Chicago Bears fans won't believe this insane Justin Fields' stat
Justin Fields is the NFL's best fourth-quarter quarterback this season."
But he's not actually improving. His still has the same issues. He just has a better team around him. Also it's been 3 games. JF has had good games here too. It just never lasts and his performance becomes inconsistent. I just think articles like this are clickbait.
I agree the title is way over the top. But Fields does look to be improving. And I agree he has a better team and better coaches around him. No question there.

That is the $64,000 question. Is he improving, or did he always have the ability that he was not allowed to get through the coaching and scheming quagmire? Like letting him get back to his natural motions rather than trying to mimic Rogers. Surprised they didn't try to make him go through the mimicking of Brady when Rogers didn't work out. Hell, it if worked for them, it should make him great too!

I think he is simply getting proper development now. They've already said that the Steeler coaches were having him un-learn some of the things the Bears tried to do with Fields. In a sense (not exactly, but in some small sense) this is like Fields' rookie season. He is on a better franchise with better coaches and a better offensive line too. He seems sooooo much more comfortable now. The Bears seemed hell bent to make him into something he was not. The Steelers seem to be letting the guy play to his strengths and play more free and with his instincts rather than being robotic like he was on the Bears. I still can't understand why the Bears would force a kid to change his throwing mechanics as a rookie QB1. The learning curve from college to NFL is steep enough without doing something like that. Don't get me going...

You watch any of his games in Pitt?
Yes he doesn't look any better than when he was here. Again he did have occasional good games. We've been down this road before. He's just not consistent and is ultimately a limited QB. Also I'll note that he scored 28 and 37 points against teams last year on this team that he only put up 18 and 13 with the Steelers.

All the Bears ever did was put Justin Fields in an environment of constant chaos and then they also gave him DJ Moore.
Other than that, they didn't do crap for the guy.
Fields comes into the league and gets McNagy with the String Theory Offense, no OL, and we saw the results of that with the infamous Cleveland game.
Then here we go.
Now McNagy gets fired.
Here comes Eberflus who knows what to do with a QB like what I know what to do with a SpaceX Space Ship.
Fields got train wrecked here; mind and body.
But now here comes Caleb, and by comparison, is the Pampered Good Child.
Oh here Caleb, here's a Top 5 Defense, here's a trio of DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze. Here's Shane Waldron who got 4,000 yards out of Geno Smith.
Is there anything else you'd like Caleb? A hot towel? The dessert menu perhaps?
This is why my sympathy for Caleb with this OL is not there all that much. Fields had to overcome a lot more than that and he was dominant at running the ball too.
Are we all pretending Fields had problems holding onto the ball too long, processing the field when his first read isn't open. Even with Williams rookie mistakes, he's already looking like a legit starting QB.

It’s kind of hard to process past the first read when half the DL is on your case right after the balls snaps and that assumes Whitehair didn’t snap the ball into the third row to begin with.
Or when Read One is DJ Moore and Reads Two and Three aren’t even in the NFL anymore or they’re overrated Mooney or stone hands Velus. Yeah I’m throwing to DJ too.

Wasn't there also a stat showing us Fields caused half his sacks/pressure do to holding onto the ball too long?
