He's doing really well on the field to, given the situation. He's already doing things Fields struggled with, even last year, pre reading at the line, making adjustments, and calling audibles.
IF he can prevent being mentally/emotionally destroyed by this trash OL this year, AND he can start to hit a few of these downfield throws, looks like he started to yesterday. He's already ahead of the last 4 rookies the Bears have had. None seemed capable of doing what he's doing at the line right now in game 3. He has the football IQ, just needs the peices around him to succeed imo. I think the timing on those deep throws will come. He's getting hyper sped up w/the OL, so it's just a matter of him keeping his cool this year and hopefully next year Poles and Flus will actually realize the OL matters and use FA and the draft to build one that isn't full of cast off's and div2 jags
Remember all the stories about how Rex, Mitch and Justin were the first ones in and last ones out, and it showed how hard they were working at it? Doesn't seem like a need for Williams.
