I do believe the O can make adjustments and get better this season. That 2.46 yards per play on offense, surely isn't going to last all season. You'd almost have to WORK on sucking that bad for an entire season.
This is not the final product. It just can't be.
It will be better as the season goes on. I agree. This OL is a clown show on gamedays... a level that is pretty stunning to witness. One thought I had today is that if we see a team do a "Tua" on our shiny new toy, Caleb Williams, then you'll see the fanbase at Halas Hall with pitchforks and torches. The offense is really ruining a year where we have a very special defense... if it ends with a 6 or 7 win season because of the clowns on OL then it's gonna be pretty ugly for Poles. His job is safe in 2025 but the ice will thin. And Eberflus and his staff will be sent packing. I'd hate to see that because I really want 'Flus to be successful. Everybody loses (especially the fans) when the Bears do their periodic plug-pulling and start over with new coaches. On a side note. If Kevin Warren bungles the stadium project I wonder how secure his job is. Seems like we are continually getting bad news on that front.

ok, so this is just me. I could be wrong (as rare as that is, lol!). Eberflus is here for as long as Poles is here. Poles kept him and I think will continue to keep him. Unless he totally craps the bed, and he not that inept. He will be good enough to keep but not good enough to win (I say that prematurely because maybe by the end of the year, we are clicking on all cylinders)

I look at it this way, for now. We have a new OC, a new system, a new rookie raw QB, a couple new receivers, and are fresh out of camp. The O-line is not big on talent or depth, and we have a few injuries and one benchwarmer of a bum at a starting position. They have not played together enough as a unit. There has been a lot of rotation due to experimenting and injuries etc. Then we hit the season and face two very strong defenses. So yes, we have looked like crap. I expect it to get better starting this week when we face a lesser defense. It's up to Flus, Waldron and the O-Line coach to figure out how to work with what they have. If we still blow chunks after the next couple games, then we have a serious problem. Until then, I'm going to R - E - L - A - X.

I'm waiting til after the fourth game. I am not expecting it to be a legendary offense, but these kind of stupid things should be worked out. And CW needs to be actually hitting his targets when he throws to them. Waldron needs to have figured out how to protect him so he is not a living Pinata, and Nate needs to touch someone from the other team. Waterboy... anything I don't care. It can even be a loving caress. But I want to see some contact. If the clothes come off, then I bail out.

And that is what most of us want to see. If Eberflus can be a solid HC, then that's the best for the team. I don't want to see him fail.

That's all true. Poor talent, depth, one outright bum - and injury woes. Gotta be better than that if we want Caleb Williams and this offense to reach their ceiling potential.
I was thinking about this today, from a somewhat different angle. Chris Morgan the offensive line coach was suppose to be very good, I am questioning his ability as of now. Braxton Jones was always the example given, maybe just maybe any coach could have gotten him where he is. Nate Davis, whoever the center is just isn't cutting it. Jenkins has been ok but not great and Wright is doing what a first round pick should do. Borom is decent back up, and who knows what the rookie tackle from Yale can do. I can't begin to spell or pronounce his name Amagouble, lol. You would think with Poles having been a lineman this would not be happening. I agree with some of the comments that they will improve and near term I think schedule is in our favor. Drastic improvement needed if we hope to make playoffs.

One of the best posts the past couple of weeks. It has gotten so glum, I don't even want to check in and read.
I think we will pop off this week with 300+ yrds in the air. 100+ on the ground and we score over 32 points. Hell give me a safety for $200 Mr Trebek!
