That was a horrible OL performance for a franchise that has had a lot of horrible OL performances on national TV.
Time is a flat circle and the Bears are the same story year after year after year. Can't produce an NFL offense at all.
Worst run blocking Bears team that I've seen in awhile and the pass protection is almost as bad. The defense was amazing though. It was pretty hot and humid at the game. The roof was open (the heat index at gametime was up near 100 degrees) and I thought the D would fold. But they never did. The offense can't function with this pitiful OL. It was bad tackle-to-tackle tonight... nobody did well. Dumb penalties too by the OL hurt. Caleb is regressing before our eyes behind this OL... looks worse instead of better.
LOL.... we were commenting on how nice the evening was. Shoot, this is about as good as we get down here.
Yeah... I am starting to get worried about Williams a little. He got hit more than I like and he has got to start to be a little worried every time he goes to pass. I honestly thought his accuracy would be better. He started out good, but went down hill fast. I know he is not going to get a lot of opportunities behind this line, but when he has them, he needs to hit his targets. He is not as elusive and dangerous as Fields with his legs. He need to get rid of it faster, even if it is to a chair in the stands. Don't take those hits. I'm more worried about his health than I am about him at this point, but if he does not get better when he has his opportunities in the next few games, yeah.... I'm going to start to wonder.
Brax was only one who played well and did a good job on Anderson. The rest were really bad. Davis and Shelton just don’t have enough power to hold out big tackles. Put Blasingame in the backfield and have him step in front of CW to pick up these guys. Leave a TE to help Wright.
Brax was a turnstile until late in the game. He was getting dusted off the edge every 3rd down.
Wright completely whiffed on Hunter in the 4th resulting in an insta-sack.
Jenkins wasn't good either. The interior couldn't pick up a stunt or a blitz all game long. I'm talking 4-on-5 and even 5-on-6 with a RB staying in to pass block. Over and over again they would have two guys on one with a free, completely untouched rusher.

you'd have to have a marriage like blindspot to think Brax was doing his job. That's just a joke, he got worked over all night. the IOL continues to get worked like a brood sow, and Wright was hardly good.
Jones and Wright were at least solid last year, are they having to try and cover for their G's doing to much and not good enough to do it? That's my only guess. the IOL is so bad and getting swamped that the T's have to try and assist before their block, making them late, or starting the block, then having to help their G who is getting plowed like an onlyfans "model".
But again, thank god they invested in all those "weapons". Mahomes had 2, Hill and Kelce and a good 3rd but not spec 3rd option, but had a killer OL. CJ Stroud has NOTHING at WR that anyone would be pinning for, but has an OL that can protect him most of the time.
QB/OL then toys. not qb something something toys, then ol if we get around to it.
I don't have a ton of issues w/the playcalling, other then Waldron better learn 2 TE sets b/c his O, NO O, can work behind an OL that is a welcome matt for the DL to meet the QB.

Anderson did what he wanted to Brax. Brax was aweful today, 100% a turnstile. Anderson go so free one time he literally launched himself at Williams.
Anyway, I voted coaching. I was so excited after the DEF made changes midgame last week, finally coaches that can adjust. And the Waldron...I know the OL was terrible. I know that, and its very limiting...but it seemed almost Nagy-ish out there.
"Hey! Lets run that swing pass to Swift off the weakside again! We did it last series for no gain, it should work this time...Well, poop. Didn't work, But next series it will work!"
And can someone explain to me how the guy tapping the center to start the silent count then false starts?

REMINDER: ALL MY COMMENTS TODAY ARE 100% EMOTIONAL BASED. NOTHING I SAY TODAY WILL EVEN REMOTELY MATCH WHAT I SAY THE REST OF THE WEEK. TODAY I AM IN FULL MEATBALL MODE. I WILL BACK AWAY FROM MOST OF THESE COMMENTS WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT.
I thought CW looked decent in the first half even with the oline playing like trash. The second half not so much.
pressure finally got to him in the second half. he started forcing and pushing to get any chunk plays b/c he knew the Ol wasn't going to allow them to do anything long term.
I voted “Other” for Poles. I REALLY like what Poles has done overall with the team, but he has completely dropped the ball shoring up the OL. He absolutely HAS to pour top notch resources into the OL this offseason or he needs to go.
