You can blame Oline all you want. We thought the Dline needed more talent and they're a better unit do to coaching. Flus and Waidron failed this offense.
There is no O that can function behind this OL. they cannot open holes for running, they cannot protect for passing. No OC can build a gameplan around this. No QB can function behind that.
that being said Waldron has to start running, almost exclusively 2 TE sets. There is no hiding what the Bears OL is. There is no adjustments, no chips that can fix this. Poles failed this team, and now Waldron has to limit the O to simply being able to trod down the field b/c of it. 2 TE sets w/a RB that chips b/c the OL is bad. IOL proved again to be doormats, and the T's were hardly anchors. Braxton looked like he was overwhelmed the entire 2nd half, and Wright got hit w/at least 1 if not multiple flags.
Not one OL did their job. And b/c of it a Williams finally broke and tried to do to much, like Levis last week and this week, and made 2 bad plays. This is what happens when you give a young qb a bad OL. Williams will have to be excessively resilient to not build bad habits b/c of this OL, like Mitch and Fields did.

Brax, Shelton, and Davis were all turnstiles today. This OL has got punched in the face twice now. I don't know what they can do until Bates gets back.
This is a real mess and Poles isn't looking so hot right now. Looks like he missed the boat in March when he had a chance to add a good FA OL.
Brax was only one who played well and did a good job on Anderson. The rest were really bad. Davis and Shelton just don’t have enough power to hold out big tackles. Put Blasingame in the backfield and have him step in front of CW to pick up these guys. Leave a TE to help Wright.

The Texans are a playoff team and now we know how we stack up against a playoff team and it’s not pretty. At least the team as we are today. The problem is I didn’t see any improvement. CW was not accurate in the few opportunities he had to throw it. I still saw too many overthrows and inaccuracy. That’s when he was able to get it out. The OL was a heartbreaker. Again. And the game plan was not tailored to a non productive OL. I get that they passed on upgrading the OL this year. But when you make a conscious decision to do that, you also need a plan to play around the weakness. I did not see that. And CW is taking too many hits. He is on the road to being Carr’d. I don’t want to see Williams lose his confidence. We need a few more games to be fair but I don’t like what I see. Houston is a good team and next week should be better but we can’t seem to move the ball worth a damn

Brax was a turnstile until late in the game. He was getting dusted off the edge every 3rd down.
Wright completely whiffed on Hunter in the 4th resulting in an insta-sack.
Jenkins wasn't good either. The interior couldn't pick up a stunt or a blitz all game long. I'm talking 4-on-5 and even 5-on-6 with a RB staying in to pass block. Over and over again they would have two guys on one with a free, completely untouched rusher.
That was a horrible OL performance for a franchise that has had a lot of horrible OL performances on national TV.
Time is a flat circle and the Bears are the same story year after year after year. Can't produce an NFL offense at all.

Poles gets deflated ball from me. When we brought him and Cunningham in I thought, of all things, our OL would be fixed. I love our defense and a lot of pieces of the offense. I understand we have a high potential QB. But after all this time how in the world is our OL still this bad? Throw money at it, invest in it via draft (high picks too) and free agency. It's pathetic, our interior is trash and can't pick up a stunt to save their life. We gave up 36/37 pressures. How can we possibly develop or evaluate anything at the QB position with this group?
I hope they gel and become some semblance of decent so this season isn't just wasted.

Worst run blocking Bears team that I've seen in awhile and the pass protection is almost as bad. The defense was amazing though. It was pretty hot and humid at the game. The roof was open (the heat index at gametime was up near 100 degrees) and I thought the D would fold. But they never did. The offense can't function with this pitiful OL. It was bad tackle-to-tackle tonight... nobody did well. Dumb penalties too by the OL hurt. Caleb is regressing before our eyes behind this OL... looks worse instead of better.

What a waste of high priced offensive talent behind this line. We should be better than we are, even with this crappy OL. Williams needs to hit a few of his targets better than he has. That could open up the running game a little. Not to take any blame away from the OL, but damn... the O is unimaginative and is not helping Williams. He took quite a few hits this game.
