I hope Poles pulls Flus into his office and tells him to fix the problems now as CW cannot get killed out there. With the next 4 games being what they are, we should go 3-1 worse case. If not, Flus has to go on the hot seat.
No. I hope President/CEO pulls Ryan Poles into his office and tells him he'd better invest assets into fixing the offensive line so the Bears can protect their investment in Caleb Williams and this offense. Talk is cheap. Let's watch where Poles invests the top assets in next year's draft and FA. If he can't get it done, then we need a GM brought in who can.
agreed it was Poles job to bring in talent, the coaches are just there to get the most out of them. It's not like this teams OL was good last year or the year before, or before that. At some point you have to actually draft or heavily invest cap space into the OL.
A “pressure” is not desirable but not as significant as a sack or hit. They quantify it as 3.5 feet from the QB or something like that. About 6 of the 8 “pressures” were guys pushed behind Williams and not impeding Williams ability to throw. I consider that a “win” on the rep, and Brax had a ton of them on Anderson and the other dude (Barnett?).
So I watched Briggs with that guy Pat on ESPN. Pat was the only one who went off on Brax and said he couldn’t block Anderson or Micah Parsons. Bullshit. Neither one of them ever got a single sack against Brax. Myles Garrett gave him problems. No shame in that.
i didn't ask. i know. a "pressure" is why i mock pff b/c it's a made up bs stat. but i'll take espn/nfl on what they think over pff who just literally makes shit up as they go.
lol ya i'll take your word...i won't and don't b/c you don't know anything...over those guys that actually know what they are watching and likely studied it after the game.
Brax isn't 1/2 as good as he is in your mind.
Brax isn’t half as bad as he is in your mind.
Forget pff “pressure”. When he said Brax couldn’t block Micah Parsons, I remember that game. I went back and looked at the F’n box score. Parsons was credited with 2 tackles, and zero sacks. He did same as Anderson trying to get around from the outside, and, like Anderson, got pushed out the back door over and over. The time that works is when he gets the snap cadence wrong and is slow getting out of his stance. The difference between these guys and Myles Garrett is that Garrett has much more power. It is power, not speed, that gives Brax problems. And I agree with Thayer that Brax needs to hit the weight room. He did some this off-season, and needs more. If he were as big and strong as Wright, he’d be All Pro. But then, I’d say if Wright could handle speed rushers like Brax, he’d be All Pro, too.

he's replacement level LT, ie average imo. So no he's not 1/2 as bad, he's exactly what he is.

Sometimes, I think you don’t even bother to read what I write. You just throw out one-liners like this.

The bottom line with Braxton Jokes is that he’s not a $20M / year player so we need to use one of the four picks in the first three rounds next year on a replacement.

If you don't have an elite LT you don't have a LT. I'm tired of this Webb, Massie, Leno level OT's, specifically at LT. There is nothing wrong w/Jones other then he's not great at being a LT, which is a key piece in the NFL. QB, LT, DE, CB, are all ++ positions. If you don't have them you are going to struggle to beat playoff caliber competition.
So we have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds and we supposedly need an edge, LT, LG, RG, C.Assuming no additional needs, what position do we skip. Forget FA at the moment.
5% RBs who fall down when a defender's fingernail grazes their ankle 5% Caleb for missing a couple throws 5% WRs dropping 2 TD passes 85% OL suckitude
So zero blame on a bad OC?
I can't tell yet, MOTM. Can you? If you can, please explain how.
Trying to judge the OC right now with the dumpster fire we have seen from the OL so far is like trying to judge a chef who's only given rotten eggs, rancid beef, and moldy grass seed to work with for ingredients.
As far as coaching goes, I give Chris Morgan one more week, two max. If things aren't clearly looking better, he needs to be canned immediately and Waldron should get his guy of choice in there. Remember, Morgan was a holdover from the Getsy crew and I'm getting the sneaky suspicion this is yet again another example of the Bears failing to align things properly and instead playing mix-and-match.

One of the guards. I think with the guys we have and some reshuffling, we can make it work. Plus there is FA. And we already got a new kicker so we won't have to use a pick on that
