Solid to Good game: Tory Taylor DeAndre Carter TJ Edwards/Tremaine Edmunds Tyrique Stevenson/Jaylon Johnson Darrell Taylor Daniel Hardy DJ Moore Cairo Santos
Up and down: Keenan Allen Caleb Williams Gervon Dexter/Andrew Billings Tevin Jenkins Velus(kick return)
Worst game: -Coleman Shelton
1) Titans DT's controlled the interior on run and pass downs. Coleman Shelton was terrible against the IDL, blitzing LBers, and twists in the front. He got pushed back into the hole on a trap play and then held for a -10yard penalty. Shelton played so bad that I would consider moving Ryan Bates to Center and Nate Davis to RG. Tevin Jenkins got beat multiple times as well. Bates, Davis, Braxton Jones, and Darnell Wright played solid.
2) 4 different times on 3rd down the Bears interior DL allowed a massive opening for Levis to step up to throw or scramble. I can understand it happening 1 or 2 times...4 is unacceptable
3) The Titans ran left(behind Latham/Skoronski) and had lots of success, especially with Austin Booker in the game. Too many defenders were shooting up the field versus resisting pressure to create smaller gaps.
4) Darrell Taylor played awesome vs the run and pass. He showed good bend rushing the QB, created an edge vs the run and had plenty of effort.
5) Johnson, Stevenson, Gordon, Brisker, Byard are a good secondary. Thought they played physical, tackled well, and only allowed a couple of solid pass plays all game. The TD behind Stevenson was a 1/2 second away from being an INT...which happens in football.
6) Watching the game again, Caleb had lots of batted passes and throwing the ball away. Being 6'1" I hope the batted passes aren't a long-term concern. One of these was a TD to Keenan and many others were at times with receivers open.
7) Multiple times Caleb and receivers didn't look on the same page. Either the WR settled earlier than Caleb was expecting or they settled vs coverage when Caleb thought they would keep running. Or Caleb was trying to throw to one shoulder and the receiver was leaning/expecting the other shoulder. It needs to get cleaned up.
8) The deflected completion to Rome Odunze was Caleb's only risky pass of the game. Despite not having a good game, he wasn't careless with the football.
9) Two misses by Caleb were the out n up to Keenan and the slot fade to Carter. Both were clean pockets too.
10) Should we be concerned about Shane Waldron? 2 of 13 on 3rd down is terrible. It felt like CHI kept shooting themselves in the foot with a penalty or batted pass or dropped pass...but what if the play calls weren't helping? We'll see but I'm keeping an eye on it.
11) Defense was great in 2nd half Tennessee yardage 1st half = 164 yards 2nd half = 55 yards and 3 forced turnovers(a 4th on ST)

I don't know if I'd agree with that Whalen tweet regarding Davis. Davis only played a few series and was gone. His play was up-and-down... I wouldn't describe his play as solid. Not as bad as Shelton, by any means. And like in the summer camp and preseason, the dude isn't playing much. Most of the game was played by Bates at RG... don't know what happened with Davis. This report says he was benched, not injured but benched LINK. I don't know how accurate that report is, because I didn't think he played horrific today. but he sure as heck was replaced by Bates for most of the game.

I saw enough of Davis last year - he's a bumslayer who struggles against any lineman remotely good.
That being said, Shelton struggled so badly that it may make more sense anyway to move Bates to center and Davis to RG, just because that could be a slightly less worse combo.
The interior got eaten alive today on the offensive line.
Honestly, we might be in the position of having to hope Kiran can get healthy sooner rather than later. Put him at LG and flip Jenkins over to RG, with Bates at center.

I like that we are already looking for the least worst combo for the iOL. Its like the best doesn't exist, so lets find the least worst. Bears SMH.
